I'm thinking of extending an Oz - USA trip to an RTW in J doing Oz-USA-Europe-Asia-Oz. I've played around with itineraries and it doesn't seem much more expensive to go all the way round vs just doing a return (this will be a paid trip).
Wha'ts opaque to me is how the pricing adds up Is it based on a discount price for each and every flight, or is it sector based and there's a price with a min/max number of flights per sector.
The Oneworld site says
The fare you pay is based on the class you choose to fly, plus the number of oneworld continents you visit or pass through, (including your continent of origin and any continent in which you transfer)'.
Suggesting a min max, but also prompting the question of whether it would be better to start the trip overseas (viz NZ thread and QF rip off pricing).
Thanks
