Ruby Rose upgraded as a friend of staff.

Wouldn't expect many people on here to know of her.

Big in youth, music and fashion circles :p

I guess none of us knew of her celebrity status, I just checked the "seen someone famous" thread and she doesn't appear there. haha.

Matt

She was in 1A on the last flight MEL-SYD about 10 days ago i was on, there were very few of us in J that night.. Didnt think she was special enough to go into the seen someone famous..

She is quite down to earth though..

Isn't the intention that we all work out a way to score upgrades? She was on 60 minutes a couple of weeks ago. I guess that helped.

Good on her if she has a reliable upgrade method that works with the demographic of the airline people that can make those decisions.

Wow, here I was thinking kids were smarter than in my day.

They were pretty horrible in my day, but I discovered that success is, indeed, the best revenge.

At my 20th reunion a few years ago, most of the guys were still living in Brisbane, or maybe had moved to Melbourne or Sydney, and one of them even lived in the international glamour-hub of Medan. Lots of them were fat and even more were balding. Many were stuck in serious ruts. It was priceless, and I gloated shamelessly.

I laughed all night, all the next day, and most of the way back to New York. It should be noted that I was laughing at them, not with them.

I can imagine how that must have been enjoyable.

Going to school in cairns we were all relatively friendly and egalitarian. But still with some "pigs". I enjoy watching them on facebook, with the main "pigs" still as big a duck as ever. If course, for all the friendliness there were some pretty horrible times.
As for 20th reunions. I like that the in crowd hasn't been able to organise one yet. 2 years late and counting. Funny how people who do so well at school turn out to be unable to organize simple things later in life. How hard is it to set a date and book a hotel function?

Unless they ha it without me like they did for the 10 year reunion.

The high school I went to has an old boys association, so organising reunions is all easy as it's headed up by them. Have our 10 year anniversary coming up soon, time flies

To be fair, Ruby Rose was a MTV VJ, is current Foxtel talent hosting Ultimate School Musical, and part of the Comm games broadcast, hosts a number of events, a fashion designer and is a face of the "This is Oz" anti homophobia campaign.

Exactly, she is a lesser "talent" at best, whose only claim to fame is being a talking head on the idiot box. Oh and a fashion designer. Meh!

So nothing related to Qantas yet can bend the rules. Hence if she can, why can't we... or if we can't do it why should she?

Speaking of the devil, just saw her at the SYD J lounge.

Hopefully her management properly accommodated her in J this time, or else I imagine she's on her way to becoming a prime candidate for the celebrity division of the CL. ;)

The fact that she isn’t a CL/wasn’t in the CL says a lot about her importance :p

ie. No more than anyone else.

Apart from the fact that there are 37 posts (now 38 - Doh!) about her on this thread. Actually that's not fair - there has been a side conversation about bullying and misplaced superiority, but most of the threads still concern Ruby Rose and her ripped jeans.

And I don't think membership of the CL conveys or reflects importance - it's all about what you do in life. I know that this opinion is not held in high esteem by everyone here.

CL reflects importance to Qantas. :p

And importance in other select areas, i.e. what people do. If you important enough in what you do then there is probably a good chance that your decisions impact on the life of a large number of people.
