Cheese and crackers on a 7:00pm dinner flight.

Cheese and crackers on a 3:00pm snack flight.

Brilliant idea Virgin to offer consistency on all flights.

Me too. Exactly the same. Very disappointing. I think I had the same snack two years ago.

That said, I personally think those cheese and crackers are delicious!

Consistency is where VA is vastly superior to Qantas.

I wish that made me feel better... :(

I got cheese and crackers on a 1:30 flight.

Then I got crackers and cheese for a 7:00pm flight.

Unfortunately the cheese was mouldy on the 7pm flight so I returned it and got....

Cheese and crackers sans mould ;)

Ahhhhhh Virgin!

Please don't get me wrong the cheese and crackers are delicious. I thought VA were introducing "meals" at dinner time.

"Meals" quietly morphed back to "food" unless you're coast to coast (?). At least the "cheese substitute and crackers" seem to have been replaced with the "Mainland"-branded pack.

Two half length cheese and tomato sandwich fingers here.

So for those who are dairy intolerant, they just miss out?

Oh, BTW, the sandwich fingers were tasty enough, just petite!

I'm flying Virgin for the first time in a long time next week, PER-ADL, right on dinner time. 4:55pm-9:15pm. Wonder what I'll get, sounds like two tenths of bugger all. Better have a big lunch.

What were you offered for this flight ?

Is it just me out are Virgin actually supplying two different meals in above threads..... Cheese and crackers.....
Crackers and cheese..;)

Definitely. As well as choice between cheddar and vintage.....the vintage is the one with the mould!

Typical Virgin. Announce with all the fanfare and then roll back.

Their new advertisement looks extremely deceptive.

Their new advertisement looks extremely deceptive.

The ad & their press release only says food, not meals. The only time meals got mentioned was in the title of this thread which got everyone excited.
The quiche in that ad looks a lot bigger than the one I got though...

Well that's certainly better than a tim tam I guess.

Single Arnott's mint slice biscuit on ADL-MEL 3pm, I guess they have run out of Tim Tams :)
When these run out maybe we will be down to a packet of gingernuts passed around...

Gingernuts might be wishful thinking......perhaps a packet of rice crackers would keep the bean counters happy! Two dry rice crackers and half a plastic thimble of water. The old flexi meal has well and truly been hammered!

im just going to byo on my next sector from the lounge at dinner i think - they seem to be doing the pies or a curry pretty consistently now

after a few weeks on qf im not convinced theyre doing 'meals' any better - that cold paella box thing is the pits, frankly cheese and crackers would be appreciated

And for some reason silly me thought that I would get at least a snack on yesterday's BNE-AKL flight. A drink?

Nothing. Zip. Nada. Zilch. Just as well I had something to eat in the lounge before the flight. I could have made a sandwich or 2.

Flight was cheap. That is the only thing VA have going for them. Not much more than a LCC.

I recently discovered to be no drinks at all for sale on a CNS-BNE flight........I'm still curious to know if other routes that definitely did sell drinks (soft and hard drinks) have gone the way of CNS-BNE and not doing that..

To expand on my previous observation and question, a recent CNS-BNE flight I took did indeed sell drinks. When I made comment about the lack thereof previously, the amiable steward simply suggested that the most likely reason was that they forgot/couldn't/didn't load the drinks for the flight, but he agreed that they should have said that rather than "sorry, we don't sell drinks on this flight", which is what I was told. Has someone previously mentioned the words VA ........ consistency ......... training, in the same sentence?
