Sale Fares - Pattern??

I need to book flights to the USA for 2025, one lot in Feb and one lot in May.

Are there patterns to when they may come on sale for these dates??
Also can you bid for an upgrade when buying a sale fare?

The only pattern I’ve noticed is that they are inevitably announces just after I’ve booked……

For Feb wait until Aug/Sep and Nov/Dec for May. Generally seems to be the best time to book ahead.
