Scams like these

Heya QF Whip...I mean Wp ;)

Next time your in Q club or Biz in Bne ask around for Tegan, and see what she can tell you.

I know Q staff use it as their social business media comms platform.
She's fairly savvy and may or may not have an answer for you.

It's basically a failed social media platform that Q subscribed to for internal staff sharing...
Myspace type of success...
.But Qantas seem to stand strong with it, contractual I guess?

Failed is a relative term I think - Yammer is now part of Office 365

Report it asap (ask IT guy - whatever mechanism you have) just in case it has become a 'hidden folder' due to reboot allowing changes to be enacted (similar to Windows Updates sometimes requiring re-boot to take effect).

I did thankfully and he was looking into. Not doing banking on laptop as precaution until cleared.

Have put many spam/scam emails into blocked mail, but still they keep coming.
This I never understand and have come to the conclusion they all work together.

I'm not interested in email from Canadian e-pharmac_ or cough/Ciallis etc. Mark as phishing scam. Block them. They still arrive in junk folder sometimes getting through to Inbox.

I'm not an expert but I would have thought the most important thing would be to try and protect innocent people from these oxygen thieves.

I was browsing Ninemsn last night or whatever it is called now and a couple of times I received this popup.

"Do you want to download moatads.js (195 KB) from j.moatads.com ?" With option to run, save etc like any IE download.

What is it? Sounds like adWare of some sort.

Does anyone else have a FF membership with Vietnam Airlines? It has occurred to me that all my spam email attacks commenced after their website was hacked last year. I have 2 email accounts, one that I use for business. It used to rarely get any emails about erections, stamina, brain power, fat loss, purchase orders, etc until around 6 months ago.
So I was wondering if anyone else has had similar experience?

I have been getting those emails for years and doesn't seem related to anything I have joined.
I just presume I get all those emails for little blue pills as they assume I have replied in the affirmative to all the lonely young ladies who offer me their services.

Just had my first 'Can you hear me?' call. I could hear the call centre noise in the background so I told him 'no' and he hung up. How rude. Obviously getting wise to the fact that some of us are too.

I like the 'No' response :)
Any calls which are not in our phone book or from a Private caller go through to the answer machine. If they are real they leave a message and we either pick up or ring them back. No message? I check the number on Reverse Australia and then block it if needed.

Love the fact that it's so easy to beprepared...usually a 2 to 5 second delay from answering to caller being bothered or able to reply and start conversation.

If your fairly sure it's a Malaysian call centre the just reply "Adakah anda bodoh"

..."Are you stupid"...

Very effective phrase to learn.

Pick up the phone, say nothing for approx. 2-3 seconds, the machine that dialed you decides it has not connected and hangs up.

Other day got a call at 8am from one of those Indian Windows Virus scammers.

Noticed at WW now have warnings at the GC stands regarding ATO scammers.

I received a call. Thick sub continent accent. " I'm calling about your windows home computer " answer: "I don't have a windows computer at home". ..... click !
The irony is that u really don't have a PC at home ( lol )

As above, thick sub continent accent, except they said they were from 'ínternet security', hmmm, don't think so. I normally don't answer ''private numbers'', but I was expecting a call!

Anyway, they got an earful.

The silence thing works great, we've been doing it for a few months now. So much easier and quicker than entering into conversation. If it's actually someone you know they normally shout out after a few seconds. Or call back.
