All quiet past 2 weeks. Is it a holiday period in India?

Has anyone else noticed a significant reduction in phone scam calls recently? I don't know if the scammers are becoming discouraged due to a reduction in the number of "bites" generally or if our landline has made it on to a sort of "don't bother calling" list because of the sort of interaction I recounted up thread some time earlier.

I think your calls must have been re-directed to me. We have had a big rise in "car accident" calls lately.

Anyone getting the Paypal scam emails? looks all legit except the email behind the Paypal sender name is obviously not from Paypal and the link Log On symbol looks like Paypal but the web address is not Paypal

I really think that the world is missing out on some talented comic short story writers when they direct their energies to these scam attempts rather than becoming the next Mark Twain or James Thurber.

I had 6 variations of past spams in my email folder this morning. Must have been a full moon somewhere. Deleted the lot without sharing here.

Nearly fell for one the other day. Got an email from my daughter in London with a link. Often get messages with links with recipes news items etc from them.
Balked at it with the greeting & sign off. Hi Robert -- never, always Dr Bob or dad & never signs off with Kirsten, always Kirsty or K.
So looked further & her address started as it should but was @cityapartmentsistanbul.com. Had a chat to son in law & he tells in it is a computer harvest scam so he was going to confiscate her apple & clean it up / something she always resists as too many things get changed. A creature of habit like her old man.

I have 5 junk emails over the past few days. Yes only 5. Much better than 30+/day. I check all of them then click on Block. A few minutes later receive another junk email. Coincidence?

Every now and then I log in to the Webmail inbox at the ISP, and look at the hundreds of emails in the junk folder. I always have a quick look in case something genuine pops out at me, and then do the old empty folder trick. Each time I do this I give quiet thanks to their junk mail filter.
