Scams like these

Some "random" people are sending me links to "files" located at wetransfer dot com

I transferred the email to the spam reporting site....

Had several emails like the attached from seemingly reputable companies, invoice to be paid. It wouldn't take much for some busy people to be fooled, if thay lived in that area. As for me, don't think I've ever had any plumbing work done in California!

Got a notification from somebody who wanted to share their photo album with me

Sorry, if you want me to have half a chance of clicking though, please put it in English as I don’t speak Chinese

Not being fluent in Chinese. I think it is “Never know your luck in a big city?”:)

a warning about a spoof myGov site:

Scammers clone myGov website, lure victims in with fake Medicare email

Scammers have cloned the myGov website and are luring in victims with a phishing email claiming to come from Medicare asking them to update their banking details.

A warning over the scam was issued by authorities on Wednesday via the Stay Smart Online website.

It begins with a phishing email designed to look as if it's from Medicare, asking the recipient "please kindly update your Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) payments".

If you click on the link in the email you are taken to a replica of the real myGov website.

The URL for the clone site is mygovau.net.

The real site is my.gov.au.

And yet another attempt to get one's details.....
My name is david from usa,i am here to see that you get all your lost money that you sent to scammers back email us now

I wonder if that includes the $$ for overpriced merchandise bought online?

Had one of the scariest hairriest scam sms yesterday.
Usually, scams come from a phone number, but these scammers are now very cunning.
At first glance, the sms came from ATO, I kid you not.
The only clue is that I am due for a refund, which most likely I am not, as I know I owe the ATO a bit.
Just go to a certain ***taxrefund.com address and enter the phone number the scam sms came in on, and to type in some 16 digit code.
Shocking that they can just use sender as ATO.
No hint of a 039/038 or 029 or who ever sent it.
Not that I am going to respond to the sms of course mind you.

As least you haven't got the China embassy "official" (
China Security Bureau) is after you message on your mobile.
I think someone/some people I bought on ebay from must have onsold my Aust phone number.
Others in my family havent had the message.
Or the DHL "tung shi" which means items message, those a pain in the bum.
All my ebay come via toll or one of the others, but never DHL.
