Scams like these

My old pops thought it would be OK to enter survey (we all know which types wink wink, the Woolworths San Coles and Aldi ones), got them via sms, now its morphed into spoof calls from country Vic, Africa and Eastern European calls.
Tell your family if you don't block and delete, ergo reason why, the calls will never stop.
They don't care for DNC register either, neither does Telstra or Optus.
Half our lives are now spent dealing with spam and scams, ...
Imagine if we got paid minimum rates of Au pay deleting, blocking, etc spam calls, spam sms, spam chain mail, viruses, worms, on home laptop, computer, smartphone...

Got one yesterday that I've never had before / Amazon asking me to open the DOCX and update my account details. Interestingly I've never been near Amazon and it was to my private email where I'll usually get 1 scam a week (Paypal or bank) unlike my business where we delete 10 to 20 a day.

DrBob, if they have your name then it's a deep scam.
Or if they can list other data/details.
Had an sms to my phone number, few days ago, from my bank, checked phone number with my bank's website, same number...
Rang the number, they answered with the right set of questions re identity, said an attempt was made on my card from a US merchant, with CTYYCSBC etc/something like that as transaction code, crossed paws its all legit.
New visa debit coming in replacement.
Aussie voice on the other end, no accent.
They say phone numbers can be spoofed/mutilated too.
All seems kosher, so sometimes it might look a shifty sms.
Depends on how far the scammers have planned their sting.
Guess I will have to activate card and see if the banks website comes up as activated card accepted.

Coincidence or what?
I was with Coles (Optus) Pre Paid mobile for a few years and never received a single SMS scam.
Within hours of switching to Boost (Telstra) I got this:

Here's an interesting story from The HuffPost about a woman who was scammed and how she got the scammer arrested.

“I can help,” she said, and with just those three words, a four-year nightmare began to unfold as I fell hard for one of the oldest cons in the book: The Inheritance Scam.

Note:below is the major reason i am contacting you.

The Blanc family - well, I'm all in. You're definitely got the money. Umm, but I don't have any empty bank accounts - they've all got money in them. Hang on, let me move it out of one just to be on the safe side...
