I had one at work last week - came up as Private so I answered as that is how other departments show up in our system. The background noise was a bit of a red flag and when she said my internet was going to be cut off I told her to go right ahead as she would be tuning off the Australian Government then hung up.

Are you sure they weren't from Facebook - they would be happy to turn off the Australian Government

Had a roboscam call a couple of days ago, seeking to confirm that I had just bought an Iphone of some sort, and press 1 if this is incorrect. Tempted, but I pressed "end call" instead.

If its not like the ones you describe,
a.then its the NAB sending "your account has been locked" also from an Aust mobile phone number.
b.turns out scammers can now get into peoples Amazon account somehow, from a geo location of Sydney no less.
Even Aust is not immune now from scammers with Aust mobile phone numbers, real or spoof.
For VPS, trace the raw message sender, and block the Lady, or hover over sender, but then again, too, maybe that is a pointless exercise, as they will just use ((cvbbeerrttqy2*m*il@m*ai.com)) to send their next spam spam.

I got this one too - so clicked through and got this screen wanting a $2 custom fee to be paid. Claiming to be TNT, but just a total scam. reported the number to scam watch.

The emails are not a scammer, just a stuff up It seems. Dan’s website has an alert apologising for the non-delivery emails.
