I try to stay away from Bangkok apart from airport. I should just go back to using cash in Thailand. We have several Thai bank accounts so just transfer over using Wise then withdraw from ATM. There is no need to use card out and about.Sorry to hear that, JohnK.
I have never bern to BKK, but the horror stories are enough to scare me, nit only from my parents who went a few times, my brother and his wife had conference there, and grandkids needed minding.
Just have to look at Youtube too.
Yep, usually a fake number on all spam calls. Most scam calls I get don’t use private numbers; I almost never get calls from a private number any more.
You used to be able to ask your Telco to make your number private, didn’t you? With landlines at least, maybe not mobiles?
AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements
Not to mention, unknown calls, and the chinese writings one.
My 28Degrees CC has this layout, but even my freshly minted BW World card has the traditional embossed numbers. I can't remember the last time I had a card put through through the imprinter, but it would be at least a decade ago.Bit OffT, but its seem that new anti scam measure from my bank, it seems that a lot of Aussie banks are now putting cc# on the back of their cards and also printing it sideways!
This will make it a bit harder for people to see the card numbers, as its below.
And the only time it would be needed is if and when the holder chooses.
As we all use tap and pay, with the card chip facing upwards, no one will see the numbers.
That probably is useful for those who use physical cards. Is that number printed next to the chip or the other end of the card? In other words, if you need to use chip & pin, will the number be invisible or visible in those readers where the cards is inserted vertically and the backside is towards the cashier?Bit OffT, but its seem that new anti scam measure from my bank, it seems that a lot of Aussie banks are now putting cc# on the back of their cards and also printing it sideways!

The joys of Facebook...
That page has whopping four followers, too. Very popular, indeed. What strikes here is the low level of effort to make it even look like a genuine JBH ad.
but the number of people I know who comment on these pages is unbelievable eg we have a new motorhome that has a scratch so we're giving it away. Put your name in the comments - WTFThe joys of Facebook...

A lot of places will print a receipt, even if you say no receipt thanks. That probably is useful for those who use physical cards. Is that number printed next to the chip or the other end of the card? If I ever need to use a physical card to tap (99% of my card payments are done using the phone), I would quite automatically cover part of the card number with my thumb. Far from fool-proof but distracts the young players. If the checkout needs chip & pin, then it becomes more complicated.
