Scams like these

I haven't ordered too much online lately, however I did order and get two deliveries via Aus Post succesfully in the last 2 weeks. Coincidentally on the eve of both successful deliveries, out of the blue, I got text messages similar to the above about an incorrect postcode preventing delivery of my parcel. If I was a suspicious person I might start to wonder about the timing of these co-incidences, data hackers? someone in the supply chain feeding data out?

Coincidentally I do have two deliveries in the pipeline, but I get these scam messages regardless on a reasonably regular basis even when I don't have any expected deliveries.

Similar to the Linkt messages; get them regularly even when I hadn’t passed a toll section for more than 18 months.

But highly amusing from Mr Kok of pathomporn!!
All you can believe is the date😂

A lot of a certain nationality are now doing the deliveries, tho.
Have seen people using private cars, and not in uniform, delivering to people at front doors, while I walk past, ... the packages are grey coloured plastic wrapped packages, which I know, from buying online, a lot of ebay and other sellers are now using.
On the weekend, too, no less.

Well, you never know for sure if there are leaking information used by crook❓

That is the reason for checking credibility of website and also avoid eBay... We all know that our email addresses are being passed or sold... and other info also ... Cookies are used to collect info on us, ... and it would be interesting if Google would disallow this ❓

We all need take precautions and be aware of risks from using Internet...🤔🫢

Very likely ordering via Amazon, delivery costs are artificially reduced for Amazon subscribers & they use Uber driver slaves for those deliveries. A lot of sellers sell through the Amazon platform, so packaging can be anything really.

Google is one of the data accumulators, even if they don’t on-sell (not saying they do but not saying they don’t either).

My better half crowd-funded a computer game a few years back, and when we recently bought one of their games I used Google to find their HO (she thought it used to be in the same Ghent business-park that my employer’s HO is in).

The very next day, Linked In sent me some sort of heads-up or something-or-other linking that games company.

The only linkages between that company & me are the fact that I have the same street address as someone who bought one of their games 2 weeks ago, and that I used Google to find their street address.

I also feel a little uneasy (paranoid/practical?) about all those randoms doing deliveries and having to take photographic evidence. Lots of detail they collect.
As I have said earlier due to most of my deliveries going to the Post Office as the long private safe sealed and signposted road to my front door is not covered in my taxes - this is only a few couriers… ironically the better ones.

Today I have received two SPAM emails. Similar one or two I get already couple of years ago, and again two today.
It looks that my hotmail was leaked long time ago thanks to FB. But I am still keeping, and from time to time receiving various spams.

If somebody is a sensitive person, reading it may scare and upset. It is attached.

I’m keen to hear members’ thought re this. I bought an item via Facebook Marketplace (for just the second time) and the person said they would post it pre Xmas. They appeared to be in Melbourne but it was a bit too far away to collect it near Xmas. I paid via PayID mainly because it tells me the person’s name and their mobile number, which matched their FB profile. Nothing turned up so I texted them using the mobile number they gave me for their PayID. They apologised but mentioned they now had a second item which they could also sell me. Slightly better, slightly dearer. I sort of needed a second one so agreed a price and paid via PayID again. Now nothing has arrived and texts just go unanswered and phone calls just go to messagebank. Messages sent via FB Messenger now just fail to send. I can normally spot a scam pretty easily but I just have an uneasy feeling here. We aren’t talking much money ($140), but it is just annoying and disappointment there are this type of person out there. Maybe that is how people work, doing lots of little scams assuming everyone will just shrug and move on. Reckon I’ve been done? Any thoughts as to what I could to do? I don’t want to make life difficult for myself by ringing their workplace or similar, which I can see on FB. I may then find my car vandalised (they have my name and address and phone number for the alleged delivery coming) and they may just deny ever dealing with me anyway. The FB profile may be fake but they have hundreds of friends there so I doubt it. PayID said the bank account name matched exactly, so if it is all fake it is getting very elaborate. All a touch annoying really and hardly the Christmas spirit. I’m keen to hear any ideas or suggestions. Thanks for reading this far too.
I do not do Marketplace or similar but had an interesting discussion with tech savvy daughter who is keen to purchase Taylor Swift tickets for her teenage son.

She relayed her recent experience which involved local Fb Community Noticeboard post. Tickets were slightly less than market value, checked seller's profile, had many friends in common, lived a few km away, kids went to same school.
She starts dialogue, all ok initially, was then asked for ticketek (?) ID and further details that she was not happy to provide. Ceased communication but kept an eye on the page.
Turns out, the legit person had her profile hacked and scammer using her Fb page.
The legit person had no idea 😒

It's a shame that these things happen @Nemeca and I hope things work out for you but I wonder if this is possible in your instance?

Well, similar events happen on FB.
And therefore I am not any more on FB...

...but once started to receive very strange unusual emails from a son of my cousin in USA. So I send them back to him, asking for explanation...❓

He apologized for these emails, and his answer was that his FB account was hacked including all his email list ...

....it seems that FB still cannot fix this problem...🤔🫢

If I buy off FB, it's strictly pay on pick up.
There are just too many scammers these days.
