Scoot Delays/Cancellations

TR6, the Tuesday 1 January 2230 hours SIN - OOL (B788 9V-OFA) took off at 0051 on 2 January so arrival is suggested as 1011 hours, 121 minutes late.

TR is again wet leasing an SQ plane with SQ8121 (B772ER 9V-SQM) taking off from SIN at 0241 hours with arrival in SYD likely at 1302 this afternoon. Favourable winds means it is early, as this is a replacement for TR2 that is timetabled to arrive in SYD at 1320 hours.

TR18, the 0040 hours SIN - MEL that was airborne at 0211 is ahead of SQ8121, with TR18 suggested as arriving at 1220 hours, 40 minutes late.

TR17 from PER to SIN has B788 9V-OFE with this 2115 hours scheduled departure taking off at 0156 on 2 January. Arrival should be at 0700 hours, 275 minutes behind schedule.

In its tenth flight since the early morning of 13 January 2019 that has been between two and four hours late, B789 9V-OJF on TR25, the scheduled Tuesday 15 January 2230 hours MEL - SIN redeye instead took off on Wednesday 16 at 0642 hours. SIN arrival should be 1119 hours instead of 0340, so 459 minutes late.

Scoot is SQ's answer to QF's JQ. Unfortunately both have a less than amazing operational record as far as timekeeping.

On Friday 19 January 2019,. B788 9V-OFH arrived at OOL five minute early at 0805 hours on TR6 ex SIN. There the good news ended, as TR7, the 0920 hours did not become airborne until 1525, so arrival in Lion City is a suggested 2101 tonight, 346 minutes late.

On Sunday 20 January 2019, TR19, the scheduled 1320 hours MEL - SIN was in the sky at 1342 with B789 9V-OJD. Strangely it appears to be tracking towards BNE or OOL. Don't know if this is a data error by FR24.

'The Australian' is reporting (paywalled, so I've not read it in full) that a disruptive passenger led to the captain deciding to turn around TR7 from OOL to SIN, the 0920 hours on Monday 21 January 2019 diverting to SYD.

The flight had B789 9V-OJD. Apparently a male passenger tried to harm himself 80 minutes into the flight, and allegedly had to be restrained, presumably with the standard plastic cuffs.

FR24 and FlightAware are not showing this flight correctly so I am unsure what time it arrived at a gate in Sydney, but the flight (and cabin) crew would be well and truly out of hours so 9V-OJD must still be in Sydney tonight.

One presumes a court appearance looms for the allegedly troublesome passenger, with probably a mental health assessment to be decided upon by the magistrate.

If anyone subscribes to the digital edition of 'The Oz', could they please post a non-paywalled link here?

The incident (above) is all over the media with numerous outlets posting video of what became a brawl onboard TR7.

9V-OJD, as one would expect, remains in Sydney as crew will need to rest.

Interestingly passengers were allegedly placed on 'other flights' yesterday that probably means SQ. Fortunately demand at this time of January sees many southbound flights from Asia full but northbound flights may have quite a few empty seats.

The aircraft on which passengers brawled yesterday became flight TR7D (B789 9V-OJD), taking off from SYD at 1126 on Tuesday 22 January, arriving SIN at 1531 hours. It has not been used since.

Perhaps it requires deboganisation.

Tuesday 12 February 2019's TR25, the 2230 hours late night MEL - SIN (B789 9V-OJD) did not take off until the most unattractive time of 0345 hours on Wednesday 13, so SIN arrival should be at 0801 hours, 281 minutes behind schedule. The delay was because yesterday, after arriving from JED on TR597 at 1314 hours (49 late), the plane took much longer than timetabled to form TR24, which was already late as it is the 1100 hours SIN - MEL. Takeoff for the latter was at 1618.

Presumably another aircraft had failed as it is not normal for a scheduled 1225 arrival to have to form an 1100 hours departure.

TR18, the 0040 hours just after midnight SIN - MEL Sunday 24 February redeye (B789 9V-OJA) arrived at 1232 hours, 52 late as it did not become airborne until 0227 hours. TR19, the 1320 hours returning flight to the Lion City will be delayed until at least 1340 in its pushback, but strangely this thrice weekly flight has an extra 25 minutes in its Sunday schedule compared to the other two days, so it may recover all this time en route.

TR16 (Monday 25 February 2019, the 1405 hours SIN - PER that took off at 1451 with B789 9V-OJG) should arrive at 2002, 47 minutes behind the timetable.

TR16, the Saturday 9 March 1510 hours SIN down to PER took off at 1632 hours with B789 9V-OJA. Arrival should be at 2110 hours, 55 late.

Wednesday 13 March 2019 finds TR25, the Tuesday 12 scheduled redeye at 2230 from MEL to SIN (B789 9V-OJA) not having taken off until 0542. Wednesday arrival should be at about 0952 hours, 372 late.

Soon after midnight on 12 March, the aircraft was early arriving in SIN on TR17 ex PER, but then a return flight from SIN to TSN was late, by 103 and 63 minutes respectively, and then the MEL-bound TR24, meant to pish back at 1100 did not become airborne until 1824.

Another aircraft must have failed.

TR18, the 0135 hours SIN down to MEL (B788 9V-OFA) on Monday 1 April 2019 took off at 0206, only about five minutes late. However expected arrival is 1238, 38 late.

TR19, the 1215 hours MEL - SIN (B788 9V-OFJ) on Sunday 7 April took off at 1331 so arrival is a predicted 1901 hours (36 minutes late) on Sunday 7 April 2019.

TR18, the Monday 8 April 2019 scheduled redeye at 0135 hours from SIN down to MEL was airborne at 0217 so arrival is delayed for B788 9V-OFA to an expected 1150 hours, 50 late.

Thursday 11 April 2019 sees TT24, the late morning 1100 hours SIN down to MEL (B789 9V-OJF) likely to arrive at 2116 hours, 46 late. The scheduled 2145 hours TR25 will be delayed until at least 2220 hours in pushing back.

TR6 (B788 9V-OFA), the scheduled 2215 hours Thursday 11 April 2019 from SIN down to OOL took off at 2315. Friday 12 arrival should be at around 0834 hours, 54 minutes behind schedule. The 0900 hours scheduled TR7 returning flight may be able to depart at roughly 0945.

TR19, the 1215 hours MEL - SIN on Easter Sunday (21 April 2019) has been put back to an expected pushback at 1420 hours.
