Scoot Delays/Cancellations

Tuesday 12 July 2022 has seen TR18, the 0145 hours SIN down to MEL (B789 9V-OJF) operate uneventfully, taking off at 0213 and arriving at 1107 hours, three minutes early.

However the return TR19 is delayd, with this 1230 hours flight not airborne until 1449, meaning suggested arrival becomes 83 late at 2003 mid evening.

TR19 is delayed ex MEL for a second consecutive day. The Wednesday 13 July flight was airborne at 1538 (B789 9V-OJI) so arrival should be 2059 hours, 104 minutes tardy. TR18 had arrived 45 late at 1230 in Melbourne.

B789 9V-OJI on TR18, the 0145 hours SIN - MEL on Tuesday 2 August 2022 did not take off until 0324, so estimated arrival is 1155, 45 late, delaying the return flight.

On Friday 16 September, TR3 (B789 9V-OJF, the 1100 hours SIN-MEL) did not become airborne until 1247 hours so at gate arrival becomes a suggested 54 late at 2119 mid evening.

Sunday 18 September 2022 marked another cancellation of TR3 (1225 hours SYD up to SIN). One would assume passengers are rebooked onto parent SQ's flights.

Friday 6 January 2023 sees TR15, the 0830 hours PER-SIN airborne at 1003 hours with A321 9V-NCA projected to arrive at 1456 hours mid afternoon, 66 late.

Why is TR17 (PER-SIN) almost always late? I was looking at flight reliability stats and this flight's on-time performance is about 2% with an average delay of 70 minutes! 😂

I looked at a couple of nights. My guess is that timetabling a turnaround of just an hour in Perth is completely unrealistic. The aircraft regularly appears to take close to double that to 'reverse'.

International flights are by their nature more complex than domestics, so it is unwise for SQ to give its subsidiary so little time at an 'outstation'.

If it's late ex PER, it also may lose a bit more time waiting its turn to land in SIN, even though I've always found it to be an efficient airport.

On Wednesday 11 January 2023, B789 9V-OJH (TR2, 0200 hours redeye SIN-SYD airborne at 0320 hours) is arriving at a suggested 1338, 38 minutes tardy.

They reduced the turnaround time in November from 80 mins to 60.

Bit strange, thought someone in scheduling might have picked up on that, certainly is impossible in an hour with a crew changeover.

All I can think of is it was a A320/1 and they have upgraded it to a 787 but didn’t want to change the flight times. So if you are taking this flight add an hour onto the arrival time for something more realistic.

Sunday 15 January 2023's TR19, the scheduled early afternoon 1335 hours MEL-SIN (B789 9V-OJB) has had a huge delay with takeoff not until Monday 16 at the uncomfortable hour of 0322, meaning a huge wait for tired passengers. SIN arrival should be about 0737 hours local time, by chance an 'appropriate' 787 minutes late.

Last night's TR17 left 6 hours late! The inbound was late by 4 hours though. I think this flight must hold the record for worst OTP. It's close to 0%! 😂

Nice to know TR17 is consistently late. Last night's departure from PER (Jan 27) was 3.5 hours late!
I'm finding it quite entertaining to follow this flight's late departures. 😅

Easter Tuesday, 11 April 2023 has seen TR3, the scheduled 1235 hours lunchtime SYD-SIN not airborne until 1644. B788 9V-OFC should arrive at approximately 2218 hours, 203 minutes tardy.

I noticed that this arvo while watching a family members flight in that area. They seemed to have dropped about 100kts in speed, then gained it back, then started a decent to 20,000ft and remained at that height for 30 mins. Not sure if they lost an engine.

Some techs were out going over it yesterday morning but it’s still parked at ADL
