Portree looks much more attractive than when I was there last September - it looks quite different without driving rain

So. Easy drive to isle of Skye and we go to Portree for the street photo then to Neist Point.

Its nothing like the Google imagines.

You finally get there and you see an outcrop of land. Google Neist Lighthouse and compare it to the reality of the below.

The gate is locked, so you have to scamper through and over some rocks to get to the path. Then you have to risk a heart attack in hiking down, up, across and around to finally see the lights house. All the time thinking, this is not what you see on google images.

Walk through these because the gate is locked and then either jump down a ledge or jump onto soggy bog.

The locked fence.

So when you eventually make it back, all the time wondering if emergency services can airlift you out, you want to have a drink to rehydrate and sit down. But wait, because the visitor facilities are so bad, ie locked gate, you can't go inside the shop to sit even though you can see tables and chairs inside, you have to buy through the window and then find a rock to sit on.

Yep. No benches or chairs or bins provided.

So now that you're hydrated, you're thinking toilet. But nope, no facilities although there is a steady line of men going up the left hand side of the mountain to piss against the rocks.

So if you google neist Point lighthouse, you might say that those photos are taken from up the hill on the left... you know where are the guys are pissing because there are no toilets.

So then we head to our B&B,
Carters Rest – Luxury B&B on the Isle of Skye

Part of their instruction is go past Three Chimney restaurant, thats Michelin star restaurant for the foodies.

We're booked the self catered unit with breakfast, because I'm on holidays so I'm not not cooking.

Lovely, friendly hosts ground floor unit, full kitchen, washer, dryer, etc. And this view

Excuse mess as I took photos after I dumped luggage. Super comfy king bed.

There's also a separate living room with a couch chairs and TV but hubby wasn't moving to take pic.

Was told it was a "wee walk down to the wharf"... they lie!!! I think the Scottish are trying to kill me.

But once down there it was interesting. Hubby wouldn't let me ask the British Mail woman how much for a lift back but did offer to get the car.

The sheep don't care about cars but are very skittish around people but met this guy, so cute.

Hubby has been craving fish and chips so we went to Dunvegan for lunch.

Fish was good, not the usual Flake we get.

We shared a dessert, it was awesome!

Staff was really nice, we dropped a 15GBP tip on them as we left, helped that there was no "service charge" on the bill so we left a fifty pound note (bill with drinks was 35gbp).

Hubby photo.

Just because you are driving a Jag, doesn’t mean you should leave the locals large tips. You’re not Americans so dont encourage them.:)

I know but it was a really enjoyable meal. And we haven't actually gone out for a lot of meals this trip so enjoying the good ones when we get a chance....and they gave us extra dessert to share :)

I also appreciated no service charge on the bill.

Speaking of high prices... As close as I'm going to get. They also have accommodation, if you're
coming out for dinner and enjoy the wines. Lots of cars parked outside for lunch today.

Opposite the restaurant for lunch was the Dunvegan bakery.

Picked up a couple of lamb pies for 2gbp in total to pop into the oven for hubby's dinner. I'm having toast as I don't eat lamb.
