Hi there,

I'm new to all of this so hope I'm not asking a question that has already been covered, but here goes.

I have booked with Jet Airways to fly from Melbourne to Delhi via Singapore in October in Economy. The first leg of this flight and indeed, the return final leg of the round trip ticket is MEL-SIN/SIN-MEL on a QF flight.

Apparently there is no way I can get seat allocation through QF's system, so does anyone know if I can get seat allocation on the QF flight through Jet? I'd really to try to book and pay for a seat, preferably Exit row or similar.

I think I may be royally you-know-what'd from what I've heard, but I'm hoping someone on the forum has experience with this.

Cheers in advance.
P.

Welcome to AFF.

Do you have the Qantas Amadeus booking reference (PNR)? If so, you may be able to use that.

This may be different to the one 9W have for you.

Do you have any status with the airlines and are you in economy or Business?

Howdy and thanks for your responses.

I unfortunately do not have any status with either airline.

The PNR I have is only the one for Jet - I have spoken to a friend at QANTAS in the meantime who says I'm basically screwed, unless I can contact Jet and see if they have any way of allocating seats on QF, but he doubts it very much.

Any ideas? I guess getting to the airport rather early on the day of departure might be of some assistance if I'm really ultra nice??!!

I wonder if Jet use Amadeus? if so use http://www.checkmytrip.com and enter the booking reference and surname and you might see what seats you've been allocated.

And if you have no status with either, the chances of being able to pre-select seats are minimal, best bet is to ring them up and ask, or else request as you check in.

Call Qantas reservations and ask for their booking reference (do not mention or refer to your 9W reference).

You'll need to cite your name, the flight numbers and dates of travel. The ticket number may also assist.

Thanks SeatBackForward - will check it out and thanks serfty - will give them a call and suss it out.

Much appreciate your feedback.
