Background to this thread:

In a similar vein to the "Flight Availability / Upgrade Probability Help Desk" there has an increase in the posting of questions about specific seat allocation/availability on a flight. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with such queries. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.

This new consolidated thread is where you can ask questions about seating allocation/availability. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve usability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread:

Please post questions about availability of specific seats in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, Origin, Destination, date and cabin as applicable.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Have i made a good seat choice???

Hi,
I have just booked syd to Hong kong, QF 127,on sept 21st, and returning on Oct 3rd, QF 128.

Ive got seat allocation of 56AB on Fl 127
and 56 JK on Fl 128.

2 questions, firstly are these seats ok? I looked at seat guru, which looks like 56JK on return, has the crew seats behind, and does that mean that you have limited recline?

Also, can anyone tell me if 127 is the new A380 configuration, or the old? This interests as i may try for an upgrade to premium economy.

Thanks so much

Re: Have i made a good seat choice???

QF127 looks like it is currently the old config, and 56AB seem like standard seats (nothing good or bad about them).

Re: Have i made a good seat choice???

Did you have to pay to pre-allocate seats?

By the way it would appear we are on the same flight. I do not have any guests at the moment so can take one of you into business lounge and the other into First class lounge if you do not mind splitting up before flight and do not have better plans.

Re: Have i made a good seat choice???

Re seating, how about:

Sept 25 QF 128 HKG - SYD seats 37 J & K Any good things to say about this seats?

Oct 15 QF 127 SYD - HKG seats 36 J & K. Seatguru/seatexpert indicates that there's an obstructed view on this seat i.e. no windows.
Is it that bad? Afterall it is an exit row right?

Thanks,

Ric

Hi Johnk, that is a very kind offer, thank you. I'm not sure how much time we will have that morning. What time will you get there?

The plan is to get there as early as possible to line up for the TRS. Last time I missed out as I was well over an hour in the queue and it was within 30 minutes of my flight and did not get the TRS refund.

Anyway send me a PM closer to the date and I can PM you my mobile phone number if it looks like you will have time to spend in the lounge.

Or failing that we can say hello onboard.

Ok....whats TRS? And how can i send you a PM? don't you have to have been a member for some time to have that access?

Re: Have i made a good seat choice???

Upper deck qf7, I think I've seen bassinet in front seating, can't find the source again. I have the choice for 11b, unsure if I want to take the chance to be bumped if this is bassinet site. Has anyone been on the reconfigured seating upper deck?
TIA

Upon booking QF 51 & 52 months ago we were allocated row 52 abcd .at the moment Efg is available . There is a chance e may stay empty! ? . Btw. I'm a silver.
I notice now on the web that that row 50 is available. Here's the kicker. When I have made such moves before , I notice that I have no spare middle seat, but the row I left does! This seems to happen on domestic 737 a lot, so I've learnt to leave it alone, unless I change for a lot of rows , ie 16 to 4, as I did this week.
Do I move them or stay put ?

Could someone look up what aircraft type operates QF107 (SYD-LAX) tomorrow Tuesday 18 Sep 2012?
And if it is ok to ask: availability in J for points upgrade at this stage. I'm now WP, but looking for Y+ to J three seats, so chances were slim to begin with, and I've not had a 48 hour notification.
Thanks
'tork.

I'm interest to know what people are seeing for seat 53F on QF9 MEL-SIN on 1 Oct.

E/F tells me it's available as a platinum but blocked for a bronze. Would like to know how it is for gold.

This is what a QF SG account sees on Q/F:

So row 53 looks to be blocked for SG (Leaving 50-53 available for WP).

Thanks Serfty. I really think that another WP is unlikely to take 53F. But SWMBO is not happy about the lack of certainty and wants me to move 53A back into 53F.

The consequences of losing this bet could be substantial.

Yeah as a WP I can see all of those Xs on both qantas and E/F websites. Personally I would hve taken 51 and 52 A-C but the Missus wants to be in a row.

Can anyone tell me what J configuration will be on QF9 17/12 & QF2 04/01.

Myself & my partner heading from PER-DUB and I want to select good seats.

Re: J Seat choice on A380

i sat in the last row of J in Config 1 on the 380 and it was fine, not a peek from PE on the overnight sector. it is a pain getting served last for dinner, hopefully theyve sorted this now.

Re: J Seat choice on A380

Any opinion on economy seat 56K for QF7 DFW. It's in front of exit row with 56J unoccupied so far. Otherwise the second last row (2x2) 72K?
