Background to this thread:

In a similar vein to the "Flight Availability / Upgrade Probability Help Desk" there has an increase in the posting of questions about specific seat allocation/availability on a flight. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with such queries. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.

This new consolidated thread is where you can ask questions about seating allocation/availability. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve usability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread:

Please post questions about availability of specific seats in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, Origin, Destination, date and cabin as applicable.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Re: change of upgrade on QF 29 tomorrow (May 18)

There is 11 seats not taken and at least 9 available for sale, given the WP upgrade request have been looked at I would suggest its looking good. QF29 often has very good reward availability.

That's great to hear! Thanks.

Re: change of upgrade on QF 29 tomorrow (May 18)

And it seems to have come through already, even though the bookings page said it would be confirmed at 5 hours before the flight. Hooray, seat 2F here I come!

Re: New QF A380 reconfiguration!!!

Guys

Bulkhead row 43 (on a 747, sorry!)

Still blocked at T-80 for NBs (son + girlfriend)

What's the tip to ask for them on check-in ?

They paid for row 60 bulkhead already, but row 43 apparently has a cut-out so it may be better.

Thanks

Re: Qantas SYD&MEL to SIN $510 ret ($410 through .br site)

I've chosen 38AB for both legs of SYD-SIN which are on the 747 - any feedback?

Re: Qantas SYD&MEL to SIN $510 ret ($410 through .br site)

What configuration?

As my post was moved it doesn't make sense now - we were discussing the 747 3 class v2 currently doing the SYD-SIN runs - I've chosen the exit row 38AB.

Row 38 is not an exit row in any config as far as I know? Although on the 3-class RR, it's the bulkhead row, if that's what you are referring to? Whichever way it is, you don't want to be in the A/K seat in an exit row on any 747 - the slide takes up most of your leg room.

+1

Further, may I suggest to the moderators to have a dedicated thread on BEST SEATING (747 / A380) in the QFF forum ?

Comments like that of Awesom Andy's should be placed in such a thread for the benefits of all AFFers.

Correct bulkhead not exit row.

I have not flown in this old bird for years so cannot remember the layout in my mind.

How about the groups of 2 seats down the back? Good for a couple I guess...I don't think it's worth upgrading on such an old bird for only an 8hr flight.

My post was in the SYD-SIN Expedia.br thread as we were discussing A330 vs the 747 - nevermind!

Any feedback appreciated.

Re: Qantas SYD&MEL to SIN $510 ret ($410 through .br site)

Hi folks,

I am making my 2nd A380 flight to London (Y classic award) next week and just got my gold status back last weekend.

Last year I had 4 767 flights to Bangkok, 3 with gold and 1 with silver. On all 3 gold flights I had bulkhead seating but once I went to silver I was stuck in the normal Y seats.

My current seats on this booking are not the best. I have logged in after the status change yesterday and there are still no bulkhead seats showing. Have I missed the boat in terms of bulkhead seats or are they released closer to the flight/during check-in? When should I be looking?

If flight details are available, EF could tell you if they are blocked or occupied.

Alternatively, you could always call QF up to ask, and if blocked, request one as SG.
