Background to this thread:

In a similar vein to the "Flight Availability / Upgrade Probability Help Desk" there has an increase in the posting of questions about specific seat allocation/availability on a flight. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with such queries. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.

This new consolidated thread is where you can ask questions about seating allocation/availability. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve usability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread:

Please post questions about availability of specific seats in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, Origin, Destination, date and cabin as applicable.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Can a helpful stranger please post a screenshot of the first class cabin seatmap on EK415 on 19/11/2022?

Thank you.
Pele.

It's been so long since I've been anywhere :( that I can't remember which of the QF 330's has the larger footwell in the front row of J.

Is it the 200's or 300's -can anyone jog my memory please?

The seat map for my current flight into Sydney. [SQ, A380]
I spent a few hours on the phone to get 96 D & F (double bed seats) but SQ decided to block it when check in opened.

They are going to see if we can get those seats back but now I'm thinking to select 11 F to see if the single passenger at 11 D will move. It is confirmed that he/she is a single passenger by the SQ call centre because there is no bassinet and no one else on the PNR.

Is this a d *ck move? But why... there I so many open window seats available... and if they need extra leg room won't 11 A/K be the same?

There are 6 / 27 seats allocated in business and about 100 / 224 allocated in Economy.

Showing no seats for sale:

Hi blacksultan - as noted with detail above - there's nothing available and published for business upgrades (or even for a booking) on the 21st Jan, and I looked further out, and it doesn't seem there is anything in any booking class incl. economy available until the 2nd of February, on this route!

You could keep your fingers crossed in case the system is hiding short term inventory from view, but it doesn't look too good... even if you had status at a high levels (note: you need to be travelling on the booking for the status to count with upgrade chances... unless you are P1 or higher, then the status is factored for the person you booked).

Cheers,
Matt.

Thanks . This might be because there are reports of flights being cancelled / closed for further booking until 1 Feb .

Ok, so seperate bookings, but same flight? That means no priority, but if QC, then it’s only a rung up the pecking order from QFF bronze for upgrades, anyway. Your bigger challenge is no seats left in the inventories!

Yes separate bookings same flight . Any benefit in linking bookings ?

No - needs to be the same PNR, made by you and in which you would have had a request in for upgrade together with the others; linking doesn't help here. In the worst case, at least you have 1 confirmed J seat! You can take turns :P

It has also been a while since I have been on these aircraft and in general do not select R1. From memory all the E/F seats have larger footwells than the A/K seats regardless of the row.

1F great foot room, more than most, plus you are away from the aisle:

Time for a bit of thread necromancy ..

Booked Award Business on SQ 6pm MEL to SIN in June.

["New" 77W layout (only one row of F)]

Other than row 11 being blocked, virtually the whole Business cabin is available for selection.

Are there any suggestion on the best seats for this early evening flight?

15A or K (or the two middles if travelling as a couple). No cubby hole or need to snooze on an angle given the extra wide footwells. (besides, if you snag these now it will be easy to transfer to another seat later if you decide you don't want them :))

If you are not planning on sleeping I would go for the mini cabin in R12 if you do plan on taking a nap I second @MEL_Traveller suggestion. R11 will be blocked to everyone unless they are PPS or Solitaire, closer to the check in date they may become available, I just cannot remember. If they do open up closer to check in and you can get R11 they will be the pick of the bunch also once on board if there are vacant R11 seats the crew will normally let you move to them.
The aircraft has now changed to A350, still in 12A but appears no longer in a mini cabin.

There's a 3 row mini cabin at the back with both row 20 windows available (also 19A and 19K bulkhead reports are they have a little more room) - is it worth switching?

(This is a 6pm Departure to SIN flight, arriving just after midnight).

@serfty when you look at the seat map in MMB does it look like this

or this

These are seat maps images from my account they are both a350s first seat map is for the 'standard' a350 and the second is for the regional jet. The seats in the 'standard' are behind each other and the the foot wells are the offset type. The seats on the regional jet are staggered and from memory the foot wells although not large but are not offset. I have only flown on the regional jet once and that was a while ago.

Edit, Just re read your post and think you may be seeing the 'standard' a350 based on your R19/ 20 comment. Up to you if you choose to switch I would tend to stay at the front. Also I posted in another thread but cannot find it, if you are looking for R11 these should be made available to select (if not taken by PPS or Solitaire members) at either T-96 or T-48 depending on the route.

@Matt_01 thank you ... it's the latter map.

FT posts indicate for me at 183cm, the non bulkhead seats are the go, even though I prefer to be nearer the window.

I have a OWA trip for later this year in Business using Japan Airlines and Iberia.
I have reserved seats on Japan but don’t seem to be able to reserve seats on Iberia. When I go to “ Early seat booking” the fights are there but no way to add seats
Any hints?

Anyone noticed EF throwing up phantom availability, or phantom lack of availability?

In the past week I've seen QF sectors with I9, called to request a seat release and been told by agents in both Hobart & Fiji that they can't see anything in the I bucket.

And in the case of the HBA agent, he could see seats in I bucket for flights that EF showed as I0. 🤷‍♂️
