Seating Configurations of the Past

Some QF (intra Asia) fifth freedom routes in the 90s:
CGK/SIN
SIN/HKG
BKK/HKG

Rumour has it the last two routes started the bad blood between QF & CX.

80s:
SIN/KUL
SIN/BKK

I had quite a few QF 747 flights in the 90s - I’m now wondering if any of those might have been an SP. HNL, DPS, AKL could be contenders? I’m assuming by the mid 90s SYD-LAX was a -400 and similarly SYD-BKK-LHR?

74L (747-SP) routes during the 90s:

QF23 SYD/PER/JNB
QF24 JNB/PER/SYD
QF25 SYD/CNS/HNL/LAX
QF26 LAX/HNL/CNS/SYD
QF41 SYD/CGK/SIN
QF42 SIN/CGK/SYD
QF43 SYD/AKL
QF44 AKL/SYD
QF47 SYD/WLG
QF48 WLG/SYD
Yep, the good ol' Dreamtime seats, late 90's until the Skybeds were introduced.

Really liked row A on the 763's.

I was surprised to see the same seat on USair flight out of PHL in 2012 back in their (and my)*A days. They called them "Envoy".
The solo ‘A’ seats were great!

Nice! I had a pair QF43/44 in Oct 96. The 747 over seemed older and they were using the rear J cabin as whY seats. I somehow scored the front row of that section. It's quite possible then that was an SP. The flight home was definitely what seemed like a newer bird and much different seat config.

Edit: although re-looking at the SP seat map posted earlier, there was no "rear" J cabin.... :( Also, the seat wasn't a "dreamtime" it was a greyish colour from memory.... Maybe the flight back was an SP because I recall getting much the same row number but back to regular whY seat.

It's suprising that there a very few old QF timetables on line. I threw some old QF and AN ones out a few years back....

For quite a while in the late 90's, when PR was in financial strife and had suspended Aus-PH operations, there was a daily 747SP service QF19/20 SYD-MNL (IIRC in lieu of the 5/week 763 service). I recall doing this several times.
Also, there was the now almost forgotten Australia Asia Airlines - Wikipedia : they used the 747SP's on SYD-TPE, I recall flying with them on at least 2 occasions.
