Yes, 0/50 is a good start. Watson playing well and Katich standing and delivering (well, with his achilles problem, wouldn't be surprised that he calls for a runner at some stage).

Lunch with Australia 0/78. Great start. Now let's keep it up and let the Poms field for 2 days

Psychological victory for the English as Australia's bowling is in tatters. This time they could not even take 10 first innings wickets.

I cannot believe they are talking about bringing back Hauritz. Why? I would stick with Doherty or go with Kresja, Smith, O'Keeffe etc.

I also think Ian Chappell is right and that it is time to skip the current generation of bowlers and go straight down to the youngsters. Australia may not do well for a couple of years but the experience they will gain can only be positive. Think of bowlers like Craig McDermott and Shane Warne who were blooded very early. What is the point with persevering with bowlers in their late 20's early 30's when they are clearly lacking the penetration.

SM Katich c †Prior b Swann 43

Fall of wicket: 84/1 (29.2 ov); Partnership: 84 runs, 29.2 overs, RR: 2.86 (Katich 43, Watson 40)

Now another 9 partnerships like that !

RT Ponting c Collingwood b Swann 9

The ball before he'd hit for 4. I think the commentator said it all:

Ponting stands at the wicket for several moments, he's bitterly disappointed and can barely drag himself off

SR Watson c Strauss b Finn 57

Watson had left so well this innings but can't resist a hard-handed block at this, just flicks the outside edge and goes low to Strauss who holds on to a good catch
Hmmm, things looking decidely grey on the horizon for the Aussies, unless they can bat until stumps tomorrow.

Not often I think rain could be the answer...I'd rather hope that a person would be!

Well per a previous post with a weather map, there seems to be heavy rain NW right now of Adelaide but it’s tracking SE, just missing. However there’s a whole lot more behind that that could hit Adelaide, though not looking as heavy on the West coast of the York Peninsula.

Perhaps it will ;):

Something to make Australian fans smile. This was issued by the Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, South Australia Regional Office, at 2:19 pm: "Top priority for immediate broadcast. Severe thunderstorm warning for flash flooding, damaging wind and large hailstones. For people in the Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges, Yorke Peninsula, Flinders, Mid North, Riverland, Murraylands, Upper South East, Lower South East and parts of the Eastern Eyre Peninsula and Northeast Pastoral districts." Probably won't be playing through that then...

Good afternoon's work for England. After a quiet period before lunch three wickets fell for 82 with Swann bossing proceedings from his end and Finn bowling probably his best spell of the series. While they can be happy with that, there is a fairly ominous radar image of the weather closing in to worry about, as well as a stomach injury to Stuart Broad.
Going to save us like yesterday :D

Oh my how times have changed - the Aussies cheering the weather...
Not me, you'll note the smiley in my posts .

I'd much rather a result in a game, draws just don't do it for me, paerticularly when one team has outplayed the other

Reporting cyclonic winds and rain now, though I think they took them off an over too early.

Question is, will it last?
