For hotels I will preference a club lounge over most things. This is combined with location and access to public transport.
Is this for airline, hotel or shop?Opening windows are always highly desirable
A kettle and pillows (multiple).Opening windows are always highly desirable - my hotel in Salzburg was so hot and I couldn't get it below 23 - and it had a window that opened about 4cm and that was it. After complaining get again the handyman came up and used his key so I could open it completely while constantly saying Verboten. My comment was Danke Danke Danke and I promise I won't jump
airlines of courseIs this for airline, hotel or shop?

Is that all?For a hotel my list of petty preferences includes:
Bed not pushed up against the wall
Toilets without sensor lights - they blind you in the night
Access to a washing machine
Two pillows per person in the room
Opening windows
Tea making facility in the room
Curtains that overlap so no light gets in
No really bright lights on appliances, smoke alarms, power points or light switches, alarm clocks etc
Has a power point or USB charger on both sides of the bed - we both have phones to charge!
Proper coat hangers not those ones welded to the rail by a ring
Close to public transport
Close to non- hotel food options
Loyalty program
Same!!! I need that extra space on the side and we're paying for it in Japan!Bed not pushed up against the wall

Some older 5 stars only have it on one side unfortunatelyUSB ports by the bedside...obviously an issue in non 5 star hotels... but if I've had to get out of bed to turn my phone off the next morning when the alarm goes off, because it's charging where there's a plug, I'm never staying there again!
Well I did not say that I always get them all, but in fairness I do work my way through this list mentally each time I book a hotel. At least I don't get any nasty surprises that way!Is that all?

It is so annoying to not have your phone nearby if it is the alarm - or to choose not to charge overnight so you don;t have to get up to turn off the alarm - and then have to remember to charge the phone (by which I mean camera) before going out for the day.Has a power point or USB charger on both sides of the bed - we both have phones to charge!
