I stumbled across an eBay listing and seem to recall this being discussed on AFF and on Ausbt recently, it looks like someone is having a crack at selling VA platinum membership on eBay.

I wonder how the seller arrived at that price. For the record this is not me selling it.

I think $946 is a very reasonable price for Velocity Plat...I'm not buying but for eg I'm spending nearly the same amount doing a SC run with Dble SCs Syd-Mel-Lst rtn In Nov to get to Velocity Plat!

@Denali I have no idea why you got this message after I clicked on my own link I just received an auction/ sale end message. All those tiles that you show above I have no idea were they came from.

Its just the algorithm so dont be concerned. I looked at a item for sale that was frequent flyer related and then all the hotel status items popped up.

Im not overly concern. If I go back to looking at cactus then similar items will start popping up.

Yep I will be able to do this during the year. My VA rollover was in late May 19 and I am already north of 1300 SCs.

I do not think so, I have given away VA SG on AFF over the past 2 years and a lot of other stuff. I have little or no interest of adhering to eBay rules when I can just give stuff away on this site.

I’ve just gifted a Plat to my wife. It’s just a symbolic thing really, so she will be really annoyed it could have brought in $900.

It's interesting because it's so easy to phone help desk, give name, Velocity # and ta dah, gifted gold or platinum.

Pretty sure I wouldn't risk points balance/suspension over $900.

I do wonder if there's anything in the Velocity program T&Cs which actually prohibits this? Having a read of section 24.3, I don't actually see any specific issue.
