been looking at this chart (Thanks exceladdict)

still a bit confused, which would be better, using flybuys and doing the cashback at 0.5c per point or transferring to the velocity if you are looking at round the world type flights

You're welcome.

Problem with RTW type flights will be the transfer limitation. Can only send 138,000 FB points per year which nets you max 60,030 VA which is insufficient for most international flights. You'll need to use cash money, EY transfers or FB$ at Flybuys Travel if you want to use your FB for RTW purposes

I agree with exceladdict - the transfer limit will take the fun out of RTW redemptions for you.

If RTW wasn't your goal I'd say redemptions through VA almost always exceed the 0.5c "cash back" redemptions. Especially given FlyBuys and VA seem to be regularly offering 15% bonuses on transferring Flybuys to VA pts.

Thanks you two.
I think I will transfer to VA once the bonus comes up.
I was originally asking because i judt recently signed up for velocity. I almost do all my shopping at woolies. But I had some fb points and thought if it was worth it. I'd transfer poibts to VA or not. Plus a few cc bonuses had velocity..
I think the velocity program is very handy to have....

Edit: yes the limit is a killer so looks like I'll have to earn it f. Through credit card and other means :)

Probably four years of redeming?

Do you have related family members then if each has their own separate account you can transfer VFF points from one to the other. Works for our family nicely - harvest the best offer and set up the under 18s to auto pool to one parent. For over 18s then do family transfer when required - ups potential FB to VFF earn/annum nicely. Those prepaid C MCs maxed out one member's amount for the year (or near enough as allowed a 20,000 FB point buffer for good offers).

Make hay while the sun shines....

Paid for health insurance pre-pay 13 months now paid up to (before price rise that is) Aug 2018. Nice operator happily spent around an hour processing $100 C MC after another with no problems, and receipts (per $100 payment) all sent out in one envelope remarkably. CTP has limit of 4 payment split max - operator found that out after trying to enter the 5th one... Supervisor had to work her magic and paid remainder with a 5th!

Always best to call early to mid-morning. NOT after 11.30am or after 3.30pm as feedback has been time becomes more precious then.

< As he looks to the right at the 19 inch high pile of used prepaids and gcs balancing very precariously knowing one day one family member will knock them over - but sure has stopped the rough treatment of the keyboard! >

Not quite sure that is correct - about keeping active AND about linking.

If you mean link their VFF account (under "Family Pooling") then YES! DO NOT LINK FB accounts.

When you transfer FB points to VFF that keeps the VFF account active. It then sweeps the VFF points to the 'top dog' in the family pooling each month.

So far has worked fine across our brood.

The account name for VFF and FB must be the same. So if 2 kids and 2 adults then you have 4 separate (unlinked to each other within FlyBuys) accounts. Annoying when one's kids get to 18 then you have the (1st world problem) of transferring the points manually as a family transfer within VFF when you want them.

Life is sooooo tough! :(
