Should long term Qantas Club membership be recognised?

It's had an impact for me - I flew my last planned QF domestic itinerary CBR-MEL-CBR this weekend just gone; I now have no forward bookings on QF but have 14 bookings on DJ. As a QC/PS I got smacked around by this "enhancement" twice. The other one that got me was the "some fees are decreasing, some fees are increasing" propaganda with the fees I actually incur - the assisted award booking fee - increasing to 6,000 for international.

DJ status was the icing on the cake.

That’s not really an impact so much as a personal choice. NGCI is in 2 ports, so I doubt you’ve given it a fair go and seen if it can work for you, faster or at the same speed as what you had before.

From what you posted, you simply chose to move. Hardly proving anything. :p

Did you miss the second part - the continual "enhancements" to the program - losing priority checkin made me look a bit more closely at what is actually on offer, and the more you dig into what QF keep doing to the program (increasing fees, withdrawing benefits), the more you wonder if it's worth it. This isn't the first round (remember upgrade credits/certs? remember when it was free to talk to a consultant?) and the fact that you guys use "enhancement" with quote marks shows that there's a long history.

I think it actually proves everything. This is a customer who has chosen to move - despite a long history of being a "loyal" customer, who has moved because the benefits don't add up for this customer.

It doesn't matter really whether the benefits might be there or not, if a customer perceives the benefits are not there, and does move, then the damage is done.

Sorry to be blunt Trimmer, but in my opinion QANTAS CLUB members are getting exactly what they pay for, which is access to the QP.

Totally incorrect as other have said.

Check this link out, it's the FF scheme over all that help keeps the place going, and individual spending $15K per year (not quite like my $12K one way transpacific seat though) helps but is no cigar.

Frequent flyers keep Qantas profits aloft

The FF scheme makes a huge profit in it's own right, they are cutting out things to no doubt increase this profit however my person opinion is this is ill considered.
