Quick question - I am a Silver QC member with a complementary invitation pass (user does not need to be accompanied by a member). Can this be used in the QC Lounge in Singapore by a friend travelling on a Qantas flight or are these restricted to use in Australia? Thanks

Will work in any Qantas operated lounge I believe, but not partner lounges. So the SIN lounge is a joint lounge and should be fine, but a solely BA / AA lounge would not work.

Yes, your friend will be able to use it to enter the Qantas Business Lounge in Singapore as they are travelling on a Qantas flight that day and it is a Qantas operated lounge.

If the friend is travelling with you, then your QC will grant them access and you can save your invitation pass for another day/time/friend ;)

Also the very best place to use the QC invite would be the Sydney or Melbourne international business lounge - although of course this only works if your friend has an upcoming outbound international flight from one of these airports.

I have never been in the Singapore Qantas Business lounge, but the Qantas First lounge there is pretty average (especially compared to the flagship ones in Melbourne and Sydney) so I imagine the business lounge is even worse.

I used the SIN business lounge in 2005 and 2007, and the first lounge in 2011. I think the business lounge is preferrable to the first lounge. Bigger showers, better food offering, and more space in the business lounge.

SIN QP is really good - I always enjoy ducking in for a drink.

I also think the SIN QF business lounge is in some ways preferable to the First lounge there. As noted by medhead, it's much larger (2~3 times the size) & more showers (so less waiting time if it's really busy).

The food and drinks selection between the two lounges is pretty well same-same for the buffet selection, but the First lounge does have the special snacks brought around which the business lounge doesn't do.

Wi-fi is pretty cough in both lounges, so at least there's some consistency there..... :-)

When in SIN, simply stick in your head into the F lounge and see if it's crowded. If so, walk a little further down to the J lounge, which is pretty good as a transit lounge - quite a few showers, have a snack, and off you go onto the next sector.

Love to see glowing recommendations.

Most times the SIN Qantas First Lounge is crowded and the Business Lounge is full of children and uncontrollable parents? So much for some peace and quiet before a flight.

You should be able to use the pass in a domestic Qantas Club or International Business Lounge (when travelling that day on a Qantas or Jetstar flight – with a QF or JQ flight number on your ticket), just check the reverse of the invitation for details as some have different conditions.
I hope you enjoy the lounge.

I have always found the SIN J Lounge to be a zoo. I retreat to the relative calm of the FLounge. I agree with JohnK about the inhabitants of the JLounge.

Perhaps I have been lucky in my visits to the FLounge.
