Singapore VTPass - troubles uploading vax certificate

Hello - for tourist travel into Singapore, how essential is the Vaccinated Travel Pass? No matter what I do, I can't upload my Australian international vaccination certificate to Singapore's Vaccinated Travel Pass application portal.
I've got a flight booked for Tuesday morning to SIN and no matter how many browsers, devices, file formats I use, the portal is refusing to upload my certificate. I have troubleshooted all options on their FAQ, and nothing works. Even downloaded the VDS-NC Checker app, and there is nothing wrong with my QR code.

Any advice would be gratefully received. The three day window for applications closed at midnight last night (I was trying to upload it yesterday), so I doubt I can fly on Tuesday. But some parts of the Singapore govt's website doesn't list the VTP as an essential 'must have' for VTL travel.

I thought i'd see if anyone knows how this works practically? I'm sorry if this has already been covered - I tried to search the forums but couldn't see it.

As you can imagine, I'm quite concerned, so any assistance would be very gratefully received.

I think I can help with this. Had an issue doing the VTL for a friend trying to get his Scotland NHS cert uploaded a couple of months back.

I contacted the Sing gov VTL support and got this attached reply. It was a surprise, given anything Singapore is always strictly by the rules.
But I followed the advice and it worked.

Many thanks @Archipelago . The Australian certificates only have one QR code, so this isn't an issue for me. But now, perhaps as the result of your query - they now explain that about two QR codes on the form and have ability to load two files. Thanks again - much appreciated.

Update - and with some reference points for anyone else caught up by this, as it seems to be common!

I still don't have my VTP yet, but a bit closer, hopefully:

a. Firstly, I emailed my hotel (shout out to the Parkroyal Collection Pickering Singapore!) with an explanation of what had happened and that when I booked the no-free-cancellation tariff yesterday I didn't expect technical issues to get in the way. They were excellent, waived the fee and refunded my booking. I will still stay with them when I get to travel, of course. Onya to them.

b. After changing my phone plan, I called the Singapore Safe Travel Office enquiry line and eventually got through to an angel named David who gave me a link to a page on which you can lodge an appeal, and opened a case for me (with a reference number for that case which I needed to quote in the appeal). Seems that this issue with the uploading of certificates is a common occurrence, because the form for the appeal was pretty much geared around that issue. We'll see if that gets processed in time but at least it's a huge relief to learn that there is a process geared for solving the problem I have. (Note: I hadn't read any mention of an appeal option anywhere on the website, so that is why I'm sharing this. But you need to call the Enquiry line or email the enquiry webform (which takes up to 3 business days) to get them to create a case number for you.

Fingers crossed that the appeal and the VTP will come through in the next 36 hours!

Yeah, I did it as well without any problem, uploading only the QR code.
I think in the application, it did mention to only upload the QR code section, not the whole certificate.

Was in the exact same situation. Pretty sure the SafeTravel site did mention cropping just the QR code, which is exactly what I did and it worked. Entered Singapore with no issues.

VTP is very much essential though if you're not a Singaporean PR/Citizen, so definitely worth just getting the VTP first before doing anything else, given that it's free, instant (in my case), and can be done multiple times if you find an error (I applied for another VTP after I realised my vax cert had my old passport number).

I’m pleased that this cropping/screenshot worked for you and others - it didn’t for me. I tried everythjng! But the appeal mentioned above worked out well for me and I’ve now got the VTP.

Would love to hear about any experiences of those who are currently travelling to Singapore. Immigration experience and how you prove your PCR test would be great. @JessicaTam I think you are there now?

I had trouble loading my certificate too. I emailed the contact email but they weren't too helpful apart from the appeal details.

In the end I started a new application a day later and it worked. I can't remember what format I used, but I know I converted my certificate to pdf and jpeg and one of them loaded ok.

I guess my key piece of advice would be to start the process early.

A few days ago I completed my VTL pass and managed to get it working with a crop of just the QR code.

Separately I did the SG ARRIVAL CARD WITH ELECTRONIC HEALTH DECLARATION this morning which also required a Vax QR code to be uploaded.

This failed to upload for me and all my traveling colleagues. I'll report back with how the check-in process and immigration on the Singapore side goes.

Arrived in SG under the VTL last week. The most stringent document checks were done at check-in. SG immigration only wanted to see my boarding pass and Arrival Card barcode, nothing else (not even the vax cert which failed to upload on the Arrival Card).

And is the vaccination status valid for 30 days, or 180 days?

That might've been the case. Vax cert was uploaded for the VTP.

My status in TraceTogether is valid for 180 days from arrival.

Had a great experience on arrival at Changi with no issues and was out of the airport within about 20-25 minutes of landing including customs, luggage collection and PCR swab. Waited almost as long again for a Grab to the hotel. On arrival at hotel was given a room key card that allowed once only access- effectively locking you in. Once PCR test results were available some 4.5 hours later I had to email the duty manager who fully activated the room key. As this was overnight I just went to sleep and everything was normal the next morning. No issues with having dinner delivered to the room during the evening I was isolating whilst waiting for the test.
I must say the biggest wait on the flight was at check in at Sydney with all the passengers lined up for the business check in either not aware or not organised enough to have documentation that is repeatedly outlined in emails and holding up everybody else. People were trying to check in with the normal SMS PcR tests and the standard vaccine certs. Used the economy line for the first times in nearly a decade and was I. The lounge a long time before the person I was originally queuing up behind!

Really glad to hear this!! Did our VTP on Saturday morning, amazed to have them approved in less than 5 minutes!!
Just need to wait for Qantas to ticket the MEL to LHR flights, which I can see in the Emirates app and website and the SIN to MEL that I have no visibility on..

I encountered this problem. The solution is to convert your QR code into high resolution (Full HD) in PNG format. In my case, I zoomed my screenshot file to 500%.
