She was born on the same day as I was. Sad.RIP Marianne Faithfull, at age 78.
In the 70's I was in to jazz acts like Sadao Watanabe (Japan) and Eberhard Weber (Germany). Had albums like Funky Thide of Sings ... who was that... oh, Billy Cobham. Used to drop in to a bar in Yokohama, The Windjammer, which had alot of Jap.jazz acts.Greatest piano concert ever recorded.

‘The Köln Concert is the hit he wants to disown’: why Keith Jarrett shunned two new films about his unlikely masterpiece
His back hurt and his piano was substandard. But the musician’s improvised 1975 show entered jazz history. Now two films are celebrating that mesmerising night – and the sweary teen promoter who made it happenwww.theguardian.com
IMHO nothing is like the Koln concert. Stunningly brilliant. In the 70's I was in to jazz acts like Sadao Watanabe (Japan) and Eberhard Weber (Germany). Had albums like Funky Thide of Sings ... who was that... oh, Billy Cobham. Used to drop in to a bar in Yokohama, The Windjammer, which had alot of Jap.jazz acts.
Edit: I digressed. Started thinking about Eberhard Weber (1970's piano) as a similar act, and then wandered off a bit. Keep up.
You were very fortunate. Best I managed was some social meetings of rock musicians in uk, oh and was in studio for 1st electronic album Mike Clarke (1976), not the entire time ... it took months of painstaking work, I just dropped in sometimes.IMHO nothing is like the Koln concert. Stunningly brilliant.
I have met Eberhard Weber a number of times in the UK and on tour in Australia when he was the double bassist with Jan Gabarek quartet for many years, also did some solo albums. Also with Ralph Towner, Barbara Thompson and others. Part of the ECM stable under Manfred Eicher. Very unfortunate he had a stroke in 2007 and hasn’t been able to play anymore I believe.
