Doubtful, being neither mother to the next king William nor to his wife the next queen consort. I would expect her to fade into irrelevance as she is not related to any of the next generation.

Pretty obvious, they all thought it was a popular thing to broadcast - commercial channels included.

I love how many Republicans rushed over here to either attend, or to be guests somehow associated with it, broadcasting etc.

I actually think it was lazy broadcasting, classifying it as "news" gave certain channels a boost to their "local content" obligations.

The King is head of the British Commonwealth, of which we are a member. I like to think that the Commonwealth still has some relevance.
If Albo was all that hot as a republican he would have set a referendum in train. So far John Howard is the only PM ever to have put the question to the voters. Whitlam didn't do it, nor did Keating or Rudd or even Turnbull. Albo obviously doesn't see it as a priority.

Maybe but Howard’s tactics were designed to divide and ensure failure of the referendum. But somewhat irrelevant in this context. The Australian PM at a coronation just does what protocol demands, irrespective of personal or political views.

I must say for someone forced to attend something he really didn’t appreciate or instinctively support, he seemed to enjoy himself very very much. . Of course he could have sent a delegate to represent him . The GG was also there.
