I know you have a thing against JQ (;P) but isn't it QF or JQ with the starter plus bundle flights? I remember the ~ to include eligible JQ fares.

I don't see the soft landing from P1 to WP to be much of a benefit. My travel has changed considerably since hitting P1 - haven't had an international flight since the trip I hit P1 - still going to crack 1500 SCs though so I have comfortably (well not comfortably on the aircraft of course) maintained WP.

I would be genuinely surprised that a P1 would drop to sub 1200 SCs in their next year.

Yep, needs to be 4 eligible Qantas, QantasLink or Jetstar Airline (JQ, 3K, VF, GK) flights.

If you meet the minimum requirement of 4 QF flights each year then you will go from Platinum -> Gold. The same from Gold -> Silver.

If you do not meet the minimum requirement of 4 QF flights in any given year then you will in theory go straight to Bronze.

Not true. As soft landing is not published they can send you to Bronze in theory.
Know cases in my family where you got a soft landing and a status comp without the 4 segments. Maybe they look closely into your profile.
(Dad usually travels only Business Class - so no cost for Lounge access as he gets it with class of service - and some irregular flights to Australia on QF).

His signature (admittedly can't see that on the app) is "2629SC to date", so unless they gave WP for less than 3600SC

I know anyone can get comped. In fact people who have never held Platinum status in their life can win the Qantas Platinum lottery.

By the way I do not think this is a good thing. The person who has flown 1,110 SCs on Qantas metal and was not comped deserves more than the person winning Platinum status in the lottery.

But who says any of this needs to make sense....
