Something big is coming! (1st May)

They (VFF) did send me an email asking me if I had points sitting idly with their points partners.
Yes i also got that or something similar asking me to nominate my "preferred participating partner" for "an offer that suits you".
But after their previous "surprise" I don't think I'll bother.

Now, if they were to make the VGW a bit sweeter, make it 0.5 a point per Aud$1 spend domestically, I would be happy with that.
Yes, I know a lot of people don't like the forex rates of VGW and QTMC, but for some who have no other choice, ie, don't earn that much, or won't be approved for credit, the prepaid cards that earn VFF and QFF points are the best things of the system.
So, Citibank has jumped onboard the FB bus, and BankWest is in the QFF system of earning points with their card, ...
So, umm, maybe ING might join up with VFF, now that would be great.

At MEL lounge yesterday I did see on the monitors them spruiking a 1 million seat sale starting May 1 and a Triple points offer coming soon
They just ran that exact promo a few weeks ago might have been an old slide

In addition to hype, they've also become better at hiding bad news. The old Velocity site used to have a fairly prominent link to "Program Updates" in the main navigation, and I have been unable to find it on the new website... until today!

In the footer, the "Media centre" link (which looks like it has nothing to do with the media) takes you to a list of announcements and, amongst some competition winner notices, lists the following from February/March:
Not that I imagine many people are affected by these changes, as they never seemed too popular, but still I'm surprised I haven't seen these changes mentioned before now.

Oh, that was quietly announced. Thanks for posting.

Poor virgin don't have much of a clue. They really need to join Star Alliance and beef Platinum up.

New Platinum benefits would be nice.
I just got platinum the other day

A big sale would be great I need to book a few.

And an alliance would be great also.

Now I’ll wait to book my holidays.

Star Alliance are no longer interested in VA. Also, bitter ex Air NZ would use their veto to block any VA application.

SkyTeam (alongside VA's partner DL) is their only Alliance option available to them.

Interesting! I have just moved over from Energy Aust (with the Velocity link) to Red Energy (with the Qantas link) earlier this year. When I changed to Energy Australia a couple of years back, it was from Lumo (who were then the Velocity partners). Perhaps Virgin is about to announce a partnership with another energy company and are phasing out Energy Australia?

I think they post these announcements without having a real plan. Then, all of them huddle in a dank little dark room for 10 days, trying to thinktank some amazing (not) promotion.

If I close my eyes, I can already see the floor littered with coffee cups and used pizza boxes..……..

I'd be happy with a Website that works and is easy to use, but I'd be ecstatic if they announced VA a330's flying to KUL,SIN,BKK & NRT/HND

Off topic but am I the only one who is struggling to spot SQ in the photo?

The SQ crew is right at the back, behind the lass wearing the pilot's cap – uniform concealed and perhaps also less obvious because she's not Asian (pic taken at FRA so they had a German SQ crewie on hand for this).

Not a Singapore Girl!?

Not as a such... (I was there for this event and pic, and I recall thinking the same - “Where is the ‘Singapore Girl’? Oh, she’s actually European, and also in the back row - that’s gonna make her hard to spot!”).

I’d rate KUL, BKK and Japan as about 0% chance of happening,
SIN maybe 1% but suspect SQ would squash that attempt.
They can’t get Hong Kong right so think will continue to try and build that.
