JL got rid of their 747s a few years ago and doesn't seem interested in getting more. CX looks to be happy with retiring 747s and replacing with 77Ws.
What airlines still have 747s, aren't replacing them with 777s, need to renew their VLA fleet soon and may be running a 747/A380 mixed fleet?
Only ones I can think of are QF, BA, KL, CX, VS or some government VIP order.

BA has 57 747. And maybe i just lucked out, but the 2 that flew me lhr-phx were approaching 20 years old. My bet is on them.

Why would EK be interested in used A380's when they already have god knows how many on order? They will probably order the NEO version too if it ever gets built...
EK and QF exchange the QF 380s for EK 77Ws?

I just snagged a rewards seat (through SQ - 122,500 KF points for those interested) on the Lufthansa 747-8 in First in 10 days time HKG-FRA so can't wait to try "The Queen of the Skies" (as LH is calling it)!

Nice one. Any co-pay?

Aaargh you beat me. I am in J in LH's 748 FRA-IAD in October.

Flew this exact sector only very recently but on a triple 7 however somehow was the only one in First.

$375 AUD in taxes, pretty steep imo - but that's SQ for you! At least I got the seat, I'm really excited as LH First has always been on my list but one of the few I don't really get a chance to fly being based in Aus!
