Hi all,

Is there a way to confirm that your card has been registered?

You usually (though not always) receive an email Confirming registration.

Failing that, if registrations are still open, if you try registering the card, you will get a message telling your card is already registered if it is.

Following on the enlightening, informative and positive posts so far in this thread - here is a Liquorland add I saved from Bayside Leader (Brighton Vic) Oct 15 2013:

Clearly LL do occasionally have promos for drinkable Champers - I was really hoping to take advantage of offer of this type - so YES I guess the Coles Gift Cards are the go until another of these promos pops it's head up.

Bought 2 decent bottles of champers plus another 4 bottles of white to get 20% off, then picked up a "spend over $50 and get choice of products for $10" so picked up a six-pack of summer ale. Then -$20 on the CC so happy with the promo here.

Fwiw I price checked the champers online (dans) and it was only $2 cheaper in a dozen, then with the -$20 I was quite happy with the overall saving of $16.

Add to that I was in a rural location with few options to buy wine/champers - I was happy with the deal as basically if there had been no "offers" or discounts I pretty much would have bought half-dozen anyway!

Buying $50 Coles Myer gift cards is the way to go (unless there is something alcoholic you want to buy now which is on special)...then at leisure (ie within 2 years), you can use it at Myers, Coles, Liquorland, Officeworks, Vintage Cellars, Target, Kmart etc....effectively obtaining a 40% discount:)

An OT comment for Cruiser. I bought an online offer last week from Dans for $90 delivery included. It was a box of six prety reasonable wines ($18-28 individually) with one a bottle of Moet. Pretty good value overall.

I also did $90 for 6 bottles of sauv blanc from vintage cellars, delivered, price per bottle cheaper than Dans AND pair of riedel glasses came with it. Well, I did a dozen actually.

FWIW - went to LL in Southland Sunday and purchased 4 x $50 Coles Myer Gift Cards - in conversation with the gorgeous little filly who served me we discussed the 'non-competitiveness' of LL pricing V Dan's - she simply answered go to First Choice to use the CMGC's and stated they will indeed 'price match' Dan's.

And YES received the 4 x confirmation emails from AMEX re $20 rebate to each card.

Always feels good to get a 40% discount on your groceries! At these prices I can always afford to avoid home brands.

I have just discovered that I have indeed received 2 x $20 rebates on one card - one purchase made Dec 21 and another Jan 26 - anybody else experienced 2 x rebate?

I take it that these were on separate statements?

Correct - although have not received statement for latter period as yet but the $20 credit is appearing in transaction list just below the $50 purchase.

Am heading back to LL this aft with all 4 cards I registered and give them another run - this is a NO-BRAINER now that I know First Choice will price match Dan's.

I thought it was a once off per card....might try again this pm then as today is the last day for the offer. Worse case scenario is that I buy $50 Coles Myer Gift cards at face value!

I'm not so sure... I registered both my Platinum Reserve and my Platinum Charge for the promo, only used the Platinum Reserve for a $50 purchase and was given the $20 back in December (previous statement) and now the promo is no longer showing under "Saved Offers" for my Platinum Reserve and whilst it's still showing under Saved Offers for my Platinum Charge the wording is a little different... clearly stating ONE $20 statement credit as per below...

  • Cardmembers must register by saving this offer to this Card and spend $50 or more on their registered Card at Liquorland, in-store or online at liquorland.com.au, in one or more transactions, between 16/12/13 and 31/1/14 to receive one $20 statement credit.

May try my luck anyway this afternoon as see if I get a second $20 credit with my Platinum Reserve (besides using the one for my Platinum Charge...)

Wish I'd bought gift cards on my two registered cards before Christmas, rather than today!

OK so when I used 4 x cards at LL Sunday confirmation emails re $20 credit arrived into inbox within a couple mins - just been to LL 10mins ago and gave them another run - no emails as yet.

It sounds like they may have made an error and fixed it! Changed the t&c's as well.
