So I have become elite silver (not just any old silver). Will I get a physical card and luggage tags or is that now obsolete?

in the app there is a "*" and says nothing will be mailed out or something along those lines

So, who else is thinking of using this to get a Qantas Gold status match, announced yesterday?

Not sure if/how it is policed, but technically you're only eligible for the Qantas Gold match if you've earned status with the other airline from flying (not promos, family pooling, other status matches, etc.)

Can confirm Qantas has accepted my application for the status match. They didn’t ask for a statement showing how the KrisFlyer SCs were earned.

I recently transferred all my bank and amex points over to KF in the hope of making it to Gold status for the first time but came short as you can see. If I had more time, I think I can do it with more transfers but I don't think I can within this time. Is there avenue for me to try to complete the golden circle ? Is there a calculator to work out how many KF award points requred to get the required number of status points? Any kind soul out there willing to "gift/loan" points? 1637278242211.png

You have until the end of February. That is time enough to get a credit card that earns or converts to KF and either use the sign up bonus or put through enough money to get the points. Look at Westpac Altitude...

You may consider if any of your friends/family members has an Amex ascent award account and agrees to “gift” you the MR points. It used to be a yearly limit of 50k MR points but not sure if it has been doubled following the “halving” of point value. Paper form required

Sorry - just seen that your membership year ends in January. Nevertheless, I applied for an Altitude card, was accepted, received the card, spent the required money and cashed out the sign up bonus within the space of three weeks. Just as a datapoint.

you'll get elite miles from the 15% bonus too, in Dec. will that put you over?

Does krisflyer have a fixed membership year ? If the date displayed on my profile is 30 Nov 2022 , does it mean I need to make gold by 30 Nov 2021 ? And if so will my gold level be valid only until 30 Nov 2022 ?

I didn't know that one gets status miles from the 15%. If that is true and my maths is correct, then bummer, I am shy by 787 which hopefully should be able to be made up by purchases. :) The Mrs will be happy.

I think it resets if you go up a tier - will reset to the end of the same month you go up but in a year's time. So if you are promoted on 15 June 2021 your expiry would be reset to 30 June 2022.

We are all waiting to see how this works - will it get the 15%, or would that require over 50,000 bonus points in any given transaction?

I just made a stupid mistake. I was only 200 elite miles to gold. I intended to do another 250k for a gold requalification which will last until Nov 2023. I stupidly did 140k transfer (28k Elite miles) and just saw any Elite miles in excess of the 50,000 required for qualification will not count towards tier renewal.

Dolencias. Still, for most people who live in Australia the *G status is not worth that much, especially when compared to a stack of KF points.

I believe I have 50 k elite miles ( as per graphic ) .
But my card is still silver ? Will it take a day or 2 ?

And is it worth more for people living elsewhere ? Why so? TIA

If you do a heap of domestic deep discount economy flights on short routes with a *A carrier then the lounge access is a godsend. But since there is no domestic *A airline in Australia, that's not a situation many of us are going to find ourselves in. Our *A flights are likely to be occasional long-haul trips that may well be in premium cabins that bring lounge access anyway.
