i think i read (about 20 pages ago) that people were getting away with WLs without having the required # of points in their account. any anecdotes of this getting through the gaps recently? not super keen to transfer points only for the WL to not clear and then needing additional points to book after tomorrow.

related - is it midnight tonight that it cuts off, or midnight tomorrow?
 
I did 2 WL with no points. Then, kept watching and nabbed an F suites to JFK, in the last week.

I reloaded Mrscove's Kris Miles account tonight by paying the ATO. I have just done a tester on Chase Sapphire because I could.

If I get off VA flight in PER T1 at 11:55pm how quickly can I be through T1 international immigration/security?

Would like to get into KrisFlyer lounge before scheduled 1:10am close and then spend ~3 hours in terminal before KrisFlyer lounge opening again at 4:15am for SQ224. Hand luggage only.

I tried on line and due to my slight panic at actually seeing a JFK flt available and not wanting to loose it, and stumbling at the points transfer from VA, I rang them up. They couldn't see it and I was refreshing and it was still there. The phone guy was very nice but had me convinced I was seeing an optical illusion. Then, I suddenly came to my senses and did an instantaneous VA transfer and booked it on line. Needed to do on line to ensure the 20K points discount.

I'm curious about if adding a stopover on a o/w award will lead to the new rates as well. Waitlisted a few flights for this October from SIN-JFK but none confirmed so decided to just book JFK-AKL. Debating if I want to stopover in SIN for a few nights before continuing onto AKL. Not 100% about this stopover though at the same time I don't want to get charged the new rates later.
 
just put 4 flights on R SYD-LHR waitlist, without the required number of miles in my account. bit surprised about that but i'll take it.

then ticketed a biz class SYD-LHR, with a stopover in SIN it was a little exxy @ ~S$670 in 'taxes' (+ stopover fee etc)

only 15 mins on hold so happy about that.
 
Does that include checkin online John? Quickest I've gone thru checkin to gate is 15 minutes :) but I flew out on the 2pm flight and it wasn't busy. At midnight you might be able to it it just. But you have EK and QR departing around the same time.... why you coming via Per? If you VA gold you are better off using arrivals access in the VA Dom lounge??

I am assuming VA BNE will check me through BNE-PER-SIN-CGK as they are on the one itinerary but obviously VA codeshares on the SQ flights. Hope they don't find a reason to spoil my plans again.

Is the VA lounge likely to be open at 11:55pm? I was thinking that I am probably better off spending the 3 hours or so waiting airside rather than landside.

Another option was going to casino but hire car is ~$50+ for the few hours needed.
 
In a bit of a curly situation.

Have a PE SFO-SIN flight confirmed. A J flight has opened up on LAX-ICN-SIN that i'd like to swap to.

PE flight is now on waitlist only and I don't have enough miles to book the J class with the PE still standing.

Call Centre said that they can cancel and redeposit the miles but it won't be instant and they can't book the J flight for me on that same phone call.

I don't want to risk losing the PE flight (passing on to someone in the waitlist) and someone else booking the J flight before I can get to it.

Is this just a bad agent? Cutting it fine with the deval...
