SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Just thought I'd check my seat and meal selections for SQ208->306 tomorrow, and I find that 'manage my booking' is not showing any of the seat selections that I made when booking. For SQ 208 the only PE seat available is shown as 31E, in the middle with a bassinet seat at either end! But my boading pass shows 33A which I had booked (strong preference for window seat). Which do I believe? And is there a chance to regain my other selections at check-in?

And although I selected "print all boarding passes" at online check-in yesterday, only the .pdf for the first, for SQ208, was available for printing. Again, I assume this can be rectified at check-in.

Have never had glitches like this in past SQ bookings.

I noticed last week ours is weird too for the second leg, the first is fine. The summary says row 1, but when I got into manage booking it’s definitely row 3 which is what I chose.
I keep checking expecting to see an aircraft swap...

Got on the phone as Cruiser Elite recommended. My boarding pass is correct and apparently I have that seat for both segments to LHR. But my seat selection for the long LHR-SIN return segment has shifted from the window seat I booked to an aisle seat in the same row - not happy about that. The rep. on the phone couldn't change it, but has noted my file to say I want a window seat, but it will only happen if a window becomes available. Keep checking yours, PDog!

just wanting the opinion of experts,
ive got a 3 day stopover in singapore, however im arriving early in the morning, and got a few hours to kill to meet someone at airport,

just confirming that I dont have lounge access when I land in singapore?
ive called singair and they said this is the case, but last couple of times, theyve told me one thing and then called me back to correct

SQ experts... if i make award bookings for 2 pax but on seperate PNR, are these easily merged on to one PNR by SQ ? Same flights.

Want to be able to sit together
[/QUOTE

On occasion I have had to book flights for my partner and I from our respective KF accounts - so different PNRs - and I then follow up with a phone call to SQ and advise that we are travelling together. I can’t recall whether the PNRs are then linked through the GDS or whether it is noted as a SSR (special service request).

As sponsorSFC correctly points out, your inbound flight in F grants you access to TPR on arrival. As it is unpublished, don't expect anyone at SQ reservations to confirm this.
is this hush hush or a loophole or something they dont want to advertise?

but if I am able to access TPR on landing in Sing at 6am I will be over the moon!

do I just keep my BP from melbourne and flash that?

It's not hush hush, it was mentioned during a Q&A by SQ themselves. But neither is it formally published anywhere. Which is why reservations staff would have no idea. Lounge agents will of course know, and possibly some check-in agents.

yes, you can enter at 6am. Just show your inbound boarding pass.

my first experience in F! :) unfortunately not new suites
Many people prefer the 'old' suites.
And I am in that camp. We flew new R SYD-SIN-ZRH on Jun 8/9 - the Ette's first exp in new R - her overall impression was that this product doesn't really know what it wants to be. My impression after 5 rides it is still hideous!

Now having said that I am in F on 228 77WN MEL-SIN morrow then new R 830 SIN-PVG Thu - had the R Saver cleared last Friday when booking made but MEL-SIN F sector only cleared 19:06 last night - finalise booking this morn and go to seat selection - so much for not being able to book adjoining Suites in R - only 1 other pax so far and 1A/2A - 1F/2F wide open for selection as single pax - 2F is best seat in the house so we go that way.

But would still much prefer to be selecting the love of my life - 3C old R

If you land early in SIN you can cool your heals in the F lounge whilst you wait for the TPR to open. They make a good flat white in the F and there will be few people there. Then, at 0600 decamp to the the TPR.
I don’t eat breakfast on the flight as want to sleep as long as possible and go into the TPR for breakfast.
been told most things open 9-11am, and since I do arrive 6 am:)

I’m in the TPR just now enjoying some eggs Benedict and a shower before the ferry ride to Bintan. No questions asked just show the boarding pass as mentioned previously

I booked F to JFK about 6 weeks ago based on what was available. Yesterday, I found a WL still open on a date I liked better but I didn't want to move another eq 150K SQ points. So, I called the contact centre and got a lovely agent who spent 20 minutes telling me the WL wasn't open. I was screen refreshing and kindly pointed out that I could still see it. After going off and coming back to continue telling me 'no' about a doz times, she then found it and booked it without needing any more points. I don't know what that was about.
