Can someone please enlighten as to meal sequence 308 SIN-LHR? Surely 09:00 SIN dep would mean first meal lunch and not brunch?

Definitely Brunch then Lunch. Though with the 15:40 arrival the 2nd lunch would be London time.

I am planning on BTC for Brunch with breakfast in TPR.

Yep BTC helps - but brunch = breakfast so you still you only get main course - you can have corn flakes, fruit and yoghurt to precede main but that’s it - no desert / no cheese - like who wants or waits for breakfast past 10am given time you need to be checked in and waiting before flying - I never understand this

We'll be overnighting in SIN so It will be TPR and then whatever takes my fancy onboard. Unless BTC is a screamer I'll let it pass...

I agree, lunch and linner would be preferable.

I will most likely skip the preamble unless there are some pastries that look good and just hit the BTC for something that will go well with Krug to tide me over until the main show.

There doesn't look to be anything particularly enticing for brunch on the online inflight menu.

Yep I hate these 'Brunch' flts/meals. 802 SIN-PEK 08:30 dep same - by the time reached cruising and meals prepped it's 1.5hrs or more post dep - who is going to expect breakfast that late? PITA! And there are no others courses loaded that will suit the BTC meals - just breakfast courses - cereal fruit yoghurt etc - did I mention these 'Brunch' flts are a PITA?

So your BTC meal will basically be 1 course and 1 course only. I have never requested Crew break out courses intended for later Lunch serving - spose you might try that but i wouldn't as I just consider it not the right thing to do

I think the Kyo Kaiseki may replace the other courses but is only offered out of SIN or Japan.

Yeah I wouldn't really feel comfortable asking them to break out the 2nd meal service items early either.

After recently catching my first trips in a380 F and a350 J

I can say that I noticed a noticeable difference in service, which i didn't think was possible!:)

In F they treat you like a king, in J , like a prince.

In F, its almost like they are trying to worship the ground you walk, while J is high quality service.

In J i was surprised when i got off, they thanked me by my name

I noticed things in J such as entrees being brought to you in trolleys, whilst F its like a restaurant

I could get used to this!

just redeemed:

5x on saver J on SQ232 for July '19. surprised I found 5x at saver on the same flight!
+
5x saver J from SIN->TPE->YYZ however split, 2A + 2A&1C over 2 days (EVA Air)

bit funny as the call centre said I couldn't have a stop over with partner airlines.
I said I don't want a stopover, I just want separate tickets and she said that was a stop over, went on in circles for 5min.

in the end I said what if I book SYD to SIN for 5x. then HUACA and book SIN to YYZ with a 2 day gap in dates. She said that was possible!
So I said lets do that, she said okay! :D

I feel I could've found a cheaper way to get there (less points used) but this way with a then 2.5yo we can break up the journey in SIN and TPE.
will ease the pain we inflict on the other pax in J *fingers crossed*
Finally it's time for this flight... This Thursday on SQ232... Excited. My son is excited too.. he's barely traveled Y.. hope he'll take me in J and F when he is a pro tennis player or something ;p

interestingly apparently SQ availability on partners is different to what shows on United website. at least for internal Europe & USA flights.

Will try again later with a different agent and see if this one is more helpful (they couldn't even replicate SQ availability online)

I'm looking at at Japan/Hawaii trip and was thinking of doing MEL-SIN-NRT-HNL via SQ and ANA, and possibly try their new A380 F seats to HNL if possible. I hear they haven't released the F seats to awards yet but will soon, but may have to just book J to HNL if F isn't being released in the near future if I can even find any J seats. What's the best way to search these flights?

I've searched on SQ and it's hard, near impossible, to find flights on ANA. Have to do a complete new search every time since most dates don't have any "suitable" flights or the flight is SIN-LAX-HNL on Unite or NRT-GUM-HNL or via China. It get's annoying and tiresome entering the info all again each single search. Tried ANA website but it's pretty much all WL. Virgin is impossible to get J award seats.

Is United website the way to go? Anyone done SIN-HNL before?

On another note, SQ should introduce a previous search function on their website similar to other airlines like virgin.
