SQ noob here looking for advice. I recently waitlisted a HND-SIN-LHR F saver award for 2 pax in Apr 2023, with the SIN-LHR leg in Suites. Has been waitlisted for about a week.

Is the best strategy to chase early, or wait a few months and chase, or is it completely random? And can you chase multiple times or only once per waitlist? I have alternative flights booked through QF so not in a hurry. I also have KF Gold if that makes any diff?

Apologies if already covered in past posts in this thread

Unless something drastic has changed in last couple of weeks I am sure they will still be - best you call again

Thanks for that.

Is there anything specific I have to say?

When I ask "can you put a chaser on this booking", both times the reply was "sir, you have to wait until seats are available and you will be notified by email"

called again three times.
The first two did not know what I was saying.
The third one knew what a "chaser" but said that it was discontinued and was going to put in a manual request. But when he placed me on hold the call got disconnected.

I might try again after sometime.

I am having no luck myself with chasers at the moment. Premium cabins are very full and they are not willing to release seats that they think they will be able to monetise. Their forward-looking statements, for the rest of this year and into 2023, are very bullish.

Would any business release product at 'discounted' prices if they think they will sell them at higher or rack rate? R and F seats are going to be like hens teeth next year or so if current loadings are any indication.

I seriously can't see much 'Saver' R & F inventory being released and certainly there will be no multiple 'Saver' rdpts in any R or F cabins. This situation has stuck out like dogs balls ever since SQ reduced R from 12 to 6 and F from 8 to 4 - go back way earlier in this thread and you will posts rejoicing how pax got multiple Savers rdpts in 12 R cabin converted into 6 R cabin but I warned then how difficult it was going to be down the track.

Situation may ease once we get back to somewhere near what normality and frequency was pre-Covid but if and when that might be who knows. If China ever opens and I can get back to monthly trips I am half expecting most will need to be comm tix as opposed to rdpt tix but we wait and see. In the mean time we are all in the same boat frantically searching R /. F availability and it aint enjoyable continually seeing zero availability.

I have an R saver waitlisted on SQ25 for late August. The cabin is already almost fully booked so this won’t be happening. Maybe next time. 😭

Here ya go - check the wisdom in SQ’s decision to downsize R 12 to 6 - I want 2 R comm tix o/w ZRH-SIN Jun 24 - ZERO availability - check other dates also when just searching for single seat:

Got SQed again. Last time they cancelled my 11AM SIN-MLE (award) and rather than putting me on 10am one they moved me to 8pm which I couldn't take due to the transfer to the islands. Called and asked them to talk to the revenue dep and they sorted it out.

They just cancelled CMB - SIN and moved me to the flight a day earlier. I had no issue with that but the second sector SIN - SYD remained the same so I ended up having over 24 hours in SIN. Asked them to speak to the revenue dep again and was basically told they wouldn't do anything other that putting me on waitlist because SIN-SYD wasn't changed/cancelled. I'm a bit disappointed but at least Singapore has many nice hotels to stay.

I’d call back and push again. Their own conditions of carriage require you to be moved to the closest available in the event of a cancellation. I’ve had the call centre stuff that up before but it does get fixed, just need to be firm.

Thank you. I will try again. I had to call twice for SIN - MLE as the first time they said they flight was too far away.

Lots of discussion here recently regarding the effectiveness, or lack there of , of the krisflyer hotline.
I must say until last Friday evening my experience was poor. Agents that don't understand , arn't qualified , promised call backs that don't happen, on hold for over 4 hours at one point.
To cut a long story short , booked 3 J savers MEL to SIN return for July school hols back in Nov 2021 with some miles that were in a large bunch about to expire. The holidays have been interrupted by an interstate comp that mini UXB is due to play in so had to move the flights. Next available family holiday time Easter 2023:oops:.
So I new the rules
- you cannot rebook beyond 12 months from original booking ie Nov 2022
-if cancelled the taxes are refunded but the points (360K) have expired so they are history
both options not working for me.
I thought to call , plead my case for points reinstatement paying whatever fee needed, then see if automatic 6 month extension could be applied to the expired points. A reasonable request I thought..... and so started the hours of time on the phone
-sorry I'm not qualified
- no we cannot do that
-I will get an agent to call you back
Starting to loose faith in the kris flyer experience but...... Eventually got an agent who said I can't do what you want but I can get the flights moved for you, I will put the new ones on hold and another agent will call back with the "manual calculation" within 24 hours.
A bit under 48 hours later agent calls , slight change in taxes but way cheaper than the points reinstatement fee and flights all changed. Happy campers here.
So very much a case of keep hanging up and keep trying again and hopefully SQ just keep training the operators
