SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

It's not possible on a redemption even at checkin. Have to keep your KF. If you are in Y should be able to use card for any relevant lounge access
OK thanks.
I have been able to get it into the booking at the Kris lounge but by that time any benefits are basically moot.

SQ don't even want to know me. I get this-

Access Denied

You don't have permission to access "http://www.singaporeair.com/" on this server.

I occasionally get that response when using Firefox on my PC to access the SQ website, but when this happens if I then try Chrome it works without any problems.

Thanks @Ken1 . I do use firefox and it did happen some time ago. Funny thing though i got out my travel computer using Firefox and had no problems. I won't worry now.

Then to those wanting payments.
@arlene_i Duffa gave good advice as it can take up to 6 weeks but see below for other ways of speeding it up.
@jellybelly 12 weeks is too long to wait. I have found that sending in the feedback form with heading complaint and jus list the number of times you have called and that it is 12 weeks without getting refund. We did that when we were having horrendous problems with a cancellation. We did wait a week for an email but after replying it was 2 days to get the confirmation of the cancellation and the points were back immediately and taxes back on the CC a day later.
The forms are on the website and you don't have to sign in. Go to the covid 19 assistance and it will come up with the notiufication form and tick other. Way better than the telephone or chat function.

We have waited 12 weeks now, still unable to get any help. Calls result in generic answers like we will escalate, someone will call back, please remain patient, or call being disconnected.
So frustrating
That is really bad. You could use the chat function and threaten a chargeback on your credit card. If that doesn't work, then go nuclear and do the chargeback!
Be mindful that other airlines who were "chargeback'ed" have responded by banning flyers from future flights - often at check-in, years after you have forgotten about your win.

I am only posting in jest as we have met, maybe SQ has banned you thinking you may provide a less than positive TR. Also just thinking if you borrow a SQ T-shirt from @Cruiser Elite you may be able to get back onboard ;) :p:p

Anyone know why I'm getting an error trying to book the following itinerary via the multi city tool?

SYD - SIN 12 Nov SQ232 12.15 - 17.35
SIN - SGN 13 Nov SQ186 17.30 - 18.40
DAD - SYD 21 Nov SQ171 / SQ231 11.50 - 15.50, 00.45 - 11.50

I keep getting the 'We cannot process your request right now. Please start again with a new flight search' error.
From some trial and error, the system does not seem to like me booking SQ232 as the booking works fine if I choose the later SQ242 flight.

frodo I cannot help but have had quite a few misses with MCT over recent months I just give up - sorry that does not help I know

That’s a 23hr 55m connection in SIN, right? Is it hitting some limit on what’s considered a layover vs stopover? (Is it 23hr max?) You might need to call.

I thought that might have been the problem but choosing an earlier SIN-SGN flight still gave the same error - it just doesn't like me choosing SQ232

Thanks, might just need to call or change the flights around a bit more.

Has anyone had any experience with an overnight connection in the Silverkris lounge at Changi.

"Customers who have overnight transits or need to sleep off jetlag can rest and recharge in the rest area at the end of the lounge, where there are 14 chaise lounges, each nestled in its own semi-enclosed cubicle. "

On our last visit to the lounge in May I don't recall seeing these. Are they now in the area that was being used for the temporary First Class section?

Wondering if they will be OK and quiet enough to catch a few hours nap after midnight?

"

I have not o/n in new J Lounge - I did several over the years in old J and secret was to secure couches way back end of Lounge - staff would even bring you blankets

I have also o/n in terminal once when GP on and I forgot to book hotel - that was an exp

Hopefully someone through in next day or so and can check it out for you and even post pics

Earlier this month after landing from MEL 12:30am I went to the silver Kris lounge before my 4pm Business flight to KUL.

There are two sleep rooms at the far south end of the lounge (head past the food area toward the far end and turn left).

Both were occupied, so I went the 120 metes to the far north end, found a couch and slept for four hours. There were very few people around.

After that, I had a shower, breakfast, grabbed one of the work booths and "WFH" for the next 8 hours.

Flying BNE > SIN > HAN > SIN > BNE in September in J on A350 - mix of LH and Regional configurations. I have no status on SQ but *A Gold with United.

How's the WiFi access on SQ nowadays?
Will I get any free allowance? Any discount codes / deals going atm?

Wifi is pretty good. Getting on is a bit fiddly but once on it is fine.
100Mb free per leg - you must be enrolled in KrisFlyer PRIOR to flight.
That was enough for WhatsApp photos and messages - avoid Insta, email and especially AFF - they burned through my allowance.

Could someone using the SilverKris lounge at Changi kindly snap a photo of the new chaise lounges that are available for a nap and post them on hear. Also a report on how crowded the lounge is overnight would be greatly appreciated.

This article shows most of the seating arrangements.

The large two seaters are near the entrance and bar but some also down the right from the entrance. The rows of single seats together are near the buffet and loos. Not sure what’s now in the back section that was reserved for F PAX but I recall it was mainly high back chairs but that could be a quiet area to head to if there are decent sofas down there.
