SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Crikey - just spent 10mins with a delightful LSS (GREEN) learning about the ICOP (Integrated Crew Operations) which is the computer system that determines / spits out rosters - OMG is it complicated - long story short impossible to get ‘inexperienced’ crew on any flt - if anything you more likely to get ‘over-qualified’ crew - today there is 2 LSS doing the jobs of 2 FSS due to equip change and a crew member from a couple days ago who suffered a fall.

It is staggering what you can learn if you engage with Crew - and they just love the fact that you are interested enough to inquire 👍

Hey and I am in J today - no it’s not dine on demand but if you ask politely they are more than happy to stagger meal course times to give you a break bw course - just ask

Just managed to jag an F-saver from SYD-SIN for the week before Xmas. Assume either of the two window seats will be the preference here? Currently in 1A which has the bassinet. Guessing the chances of being moved for an infant is minimal?

Congrats - especially in December. Your chance of being moved minimal. Not happened to me ever in 24 years with SQ once seat reserved.

Our worst nightmare confirmed - supply issue with Krug sees only 1 bott loaded per flt until stock is stabilised - plenty Comtes 🤮 - plenty 2007 CH❓- never tried ot but will report back 👍

You gotta love life huh? Currently ensconced in 1A on SQ25 777 FRA-SIN - was originally booked into my 2nd home 1C but just prior to boarding ground staff approached me and asked ‘We have a couple in 1A and 1D who would like to sit together so would you mind moving from 1C to 1A?’

‘No problem - I have done it a dozen times’ - BPs reprinted and I am first to board and take up 1A. Couple arrive and take up 1C and 1D - not a hint of acknowledgment or thank you - not that not receiving any will change my life at all but you know …………..

So only 1 bott Krug loaded plus a swimming pool full of this cordial:

Both 100% Chardonnay and both UNDRINKABLE.

Interesting isn’t it - see these dudes:

I assume these are the same ‘experts’ who selected these 100% Chardonnay vinegars and also deigned The Bogan and La Pleiade as acceptable R / F class Australian reds to offer.

FFS - ‘tell me they’re dreamin’

More feedback heading SQ’s way 👍

The only thing that really pisses me off about 777 is no overhead bins so you need store your stuff in front of you:

Today 1D is vacant so I can drop my stuff over the fence from 1C:

But if that is not the case there is a sneaky storage compartment wedged between both 1A and 1F and bulkhead - you can usually* snare one of these:

Usually* - sometimes Crew bags stored here but they generally happy to remove theirs and replace with yours - or they will store for you in cupboards just outside coughpit.

The problem here is ready access if you need retrieve something from your bag post takeoff - 1st world prob to the max huh?

Today SQ offering 2019 La Pleiade Shiraz in F SIN-MEL

Today EK offering 2012 RWT in F DXB-MEL

More feedback heading SQ’s way 👍
