SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Given SQ were one of the first airlines to have a Y+ cabin, and then got rid of it entirely, I thought the move to re-instate it was an interesting one.

I was so excited about Y+ because we are self funded travellers but when it came to book our next trip, I worked it out that we are flying J. If we couldn't have afforded/points J then I would have gone with these. I think one of our next 4 flights have these seats so hope to have a look at them.

My boss flew these seats 3 weeks ago and is back on Friday so hope to find out what he thought of it.

Reasonable sale, as far as SQ sales go... (e.g. not that often, and not that cheap in premium cabins).

^^ Link didn't work for me

[Now fixed]

Pleasantly surprised to see a sale! SQ seem to always have reasonably high loads in J in and out of Australia.

Still, it's just a bit high. $7k to London isn't that special. $3.6k to SIN is alright though.

latest pet peeve - it doesn't appear possible to book a waitlist flight online. am i doing something wrong?

If you mean that you can't hit the next button.

It doesn't work in Chrome, Firefox, Edge or the latest version of IE on Win 10. However older versions of IE seem to work.

Maybe you are doing something wrong or just a glitch - working perfectly for me on IE on Q10 and earlier versions. I did see some unusual responses last night when I was searching flights but logged out and logged back in again and seemed to right itself. Still a few gremlins in the system though - old still better than new IMHO.

I spotted this mouse pad behind desk at MEL SKL last week - I so want one - new employee on desk I think her name Katie - not sure - she checked under desk and was on blower to front office but they could not find a spare one for me - bummer!

If ever there was a reason to say DYKWIA!
Maybe she had already checked your profile and went under the desk hoping you'd be gone by the time she looked up again.

My CFO's first day back and we were talking about his holiday and the PE seats. He was VERY disappointed, and my boss isn't one to complain and is very easy going.

He said that he meal he pre ordered (PE version of book the cook?) was stale and luke warm, his wife found the seat uncomfortable and she had a sore back afterwards, his legs were aching a bit from the leg rest which ends half way on the calf (?), there was no PE toilet so he was lining up with the 200 other pax in Y. He also said they didn't see a FA except for meals and drinks. He was also negative about wine being served in a plastic cup. On boarding, there was no call for PE after the 1st, J & FF'ers ect.

He was comparing SQ PE to VA PE, which he is happy to fly. He said his VA flights were much more comfortable and enjoyable than the SQ flights.

He said if his wine came in a glass and the food was better, he wouldn't have been so negative about it but he obviously expected it to be better. Not J but in comparison to VA PE, he was let down.

Yep, I got the same sense as your CFO of SQ PE from this review, esp about the lack of dedicated FA. But interestingly, the review suggested this "You will also get enjoy eating with real knife and forks and wine in an actual glass made of glass too" - so I wonder if SQ changed the wine glass to plastic..

That's so disappointing. Was thinking of taking it for a spin later this year. PE (for what they charge) should really be J without the seat.

Everything else about it should match, except maybe crew-to-pax ratio. There should still be dedicated crew for the cabin though.
