SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Yep, so if your in Adelaide why would you go out of your way to fly international with QF; you would only if was substantially cheaper.
Only trouble for us is the SQ timing out of ADL is pretty poor for us and means we usually still have to leave from the Eastern states. On the way home though the timing is fantastic

I was shocked to find recently there's a solitary direct flight PER-SIN on QF, where SQ has 4 daily!

It's a disgraceful record from our 'national' airline; however, it does ensure that four times the departing PER pax will receive consistent and award-winning service.

If they replicate the extra services running this December, the extra 3 weekly services they're adding should provide better Europe connections in both directions (i.e evening out of ADL and morning out SIN).

AFAIK the extra 3 weekly is only running for a couple of months and no plans to extend it beyond that date at this stage

This years version, but the ET article suggest that next year it will be running from 29 OCT (northern winter timetable). That's different to this year, which IIRC is only for some of Dec/Jan? I guess wait and see once they load the timetables up.

I was wondering the same thing - I have a reward flight booked MEL - SIN and a VA revenue flight LST-MEL with 4 hours between arrival and SQ208 check in
VA checked my bag through to SIN and issued a boarding pass for my SQ208 reward flight so I no longer have to wait around 4 hours for check in to open

Hopefully the lounge can print an SQ boarding pass…..

Any recent experience with chasers? I have never done one before so any tips greatly appreciated. Flight is Sin to Bne next August in J and business cabin is quite empty.

Can’t advise about chasers but BNE is hard to get, particularly if looking for more than one seat. If you don’t wish to gamble I can advise searching via MEL. This is what we did for July next year (then booked separate connection to BNE).

Anyone happen to know if the same thing would occur for a separate VA ticket (revenue, if that's any difference from reward) CBR-BNE then onto a late night SQ BNE-SIN (saver wHY ticket)? Wondering if the separate terminals may be an issue compared to @Steady's MEL connection.

SIL is heading to London on SQ on Tuesday. She is getting excited about her Viking river cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam to incorporate Christmas markets. Her layover in Singapore is only about an hour.

I must have been very lucky then, or God is very good to me😉, when last month I snagged 4 * J HKG-SIN-BNE Savers for travel in mid January. Sin-syd/mel/adl/per was all on Advantage waitlist only.

Note that SIN-BNE is Regional A350 config but I am not complaining as it is a day flight and I have done regional J before and I am fine with it.
