St George Amplify card - $139 for 90k points (discounted fee via specific link)

I'm in a pickle.

For the purposes of earning the 90k bonus QFF points the "*" says:

Eligible purchases do not include BPAY or BPAY equivalent transactions, fees, cash, cash equivalent transactions, refunds and balance transfers debited from the card account.

I had teed up to pay someone's university tuition which would comfortably get me over the $5k. However, the university doesn't accept payments over the counter in person, only through BPay or Post Billpay. So I'm stuck.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I use PayPal when I am paying through Post Billpay all the time, and it comes up (on other cards ie. AMEX & NAB) for full points earn...

Despite not being an existing or previous St George customer my card arrived in the mail, saving me a trip to a branch. Setting up internet banking was a breeze and I immediately called up and confirmed that my QFF number was attached upon application. So far, pleasantly surprised at how straightforward the process has been for me. From lust to dust, it's taken 8 business days.

Now focussed on putting 5k on it before putting it to pasture.

Seems a bank error rejected my initial application before it even got assessed. A review has fixed that error, and a re-application seems to be progressing well (instantly approved subject to income verification, despite a below average Equifax score... further proving this is a waste of resources capturing and monitoring this).

Glad I requested a review for this one! Private Health Insurance payments will be put to good use on this one!

Thank you kindly for all the suggestions.

The person I was paying the uni tuition fees is going to go to the administration office and explain the situation to hopefully get a sympathetic ear.

$5000 Colesworth gift cards?

It would take me a long time to eat my way through that much groceries, unfortunately.

If you have private health insurance, prepay it for a year. Pay before the end of the month and you’ll avoid the 1 April rate increase.

My health insurance is a tad over $1k a year so still far short, I'm afraid.

IG deposit and withdrawal within the same day.

I closed my IG account after the botched 10k QFF offer.

The Westfield XS giftcard is similar to a standard eftpos card so in theory should work at post billpay? You'll need to find out if the uni accepts multiple payments. Downside is it's $4.95 and the highest value you can get is $995. It has worked for me trying to hit minimum spend before though, and you aren't restricted to any retailer in particular.

Westfield XS Gift Card and Westfield Gift Card

I've looked into that and I it will be the fallback position.

Good to know. I may test this. However, the issue isn't earnings regular, everyday points. This card has an exclusion on BPay and Post Billpay for earning the bonus 90k.

Apart from AMEX, the quickest application process I've had. Applied at 5pm last night, sent income verification this morning and approved early this evening.

I have run up enough Amplify Points for a first class run to Los Angeles and back. This card is a winner for me.

Gift cards are not accepted for Post Bill Pay. ( This changed some months back)

I am certainly getting the run around for this card. Being self employed is always an issue ( other an for Amex who approved on the spot when I applied for that last year. So far with St George I have sent the same docs 3 times, they keep emailing me asking for them again. I phone the number which is an overseas call centre, and are told to send the docs I have already sent and nothing changes. The other issue is having to wait on the phone for over 30 mins to get someone who speaks broken English and cannot understand that I have already provided the docs they have asked for 3 times.
So far they have my last 2 years tax returns
Last 2 years P&L
Last 4 months Bank statements for the business.
There is nothing left and they just keep asking over and over for the same thing.
This experience is comparable to the Qantas Premier Citi card..... UGHH.

A week ago i got told due to an internal dexision made by the bank, they would no longer offer me financial services (wtf?). And so my aplicaappli was rejected before it could be assessed. Something to do with a past issue involving identification which the bank stuffed up. Spoke to them Friday night.

Tuesday arvo issue was resolved, and contacted by phone, but existing application wqs dead and I'd need to reapply. So I did - and same day approved.

Very impressed so far with the Dragon, correcting their mistakes and getting on with it.

That is, staff are told not to accept them. The system allows it to work.
You could always, you know, accidentally take the wrong card out of your wallet. ;)
Humans make mistakes!

Aplied 4th March and emailed income verification details same day. Arrived back to Oz today with no word so send SMS witn "status" for update and received the same message as above: "...they have received a high volume of applications and they are behind in processing" :(
+1 rang St George today...card has been posted to local branch and should be there within 2 days :)

Pickle resolved. A kind and understanding uni admin person processed the payment using the card. Wow. Uni tuition is not cheap (which works for me right now).

Hi Tizey, would you have any contact details for the Customer experience team. The only numbers they are giving me are overseas call centre with limited hours of between 8:30-5:00. ( There is over 30 min wait also)

Check your messages.

Picked up my card today from the local branch.

Spent $15K immediately on it. Now need to pay some money into the account.

Does anyone know the B Pay Biller code number for this account and whether its just your credit card number to use as the reference or is there a different account number that should be used?

You only needed to spend $5k for the bonus points!
