Has anyone applied for a St George credit card and gotten their points? If so how long did the points take to credit after your purchase?

Thanks Peter

What rate did you get in terms of points per dollar ?
The standard 0.75 per dollar spent ?

Yes, plus there is the birthday bonus, yet to come

0.825 SQ points is pretty good, possibly equivalent in some respects to 1 QF

Cancelled my ANZ and NAB cards from 2014 (120,000 points combined). Applied online last night. Instant approval. Just had to email 2 recent payslips. Hope to receive cards soon.

I had a pretty average experience so just stay on top of them:
- Was advised that cards would be delivered in 5 days, 10 days later nothing so I gave them a call and they said a letter should have been sent out saying they needed to verify my ID
- Went into a shop to verify and the Rep said she'd call the card department that afternoon to order the card that day and would be delivered within 5 days
- 10 days later I called again and apparently the rep in store never confirmed that the ID check was completed therefore the card wasn't ordered
- The telephone rep put me on hold while she ordered the card and it was delivered within 3 days (yesterday)

I'm sure I just had a couple of unlucky experiences but worthwhile not giving them the benefit of the doubt like I did and call them if it's not received in time.

I'd like to get a new card, but as others have pointed out, your 'good' history is not on the Veda score yet, just all the credit card applications . I have had quite a few new credit cards in the past 2-3 years and was surprised recntly to finally get my Veda score. Although my score was above average, the description said that I might default in the next 12 months which is absolute rubbish.

Does Veda (and the others), know when you cancel cards like Dr Ralph did? I may have to sit on my hands and not do new ccs apps for a while.

Just called and yes, the branch hadn't bothered to notify them to actually send out the card.

The whole approval took less than 24 hours. Actually get the card to me, three weeks and counting. I can add that the service in the branch was pretty unimpressive too.

Even people with good credit scores can still default, e.g. if you lose your jobs and then undergo a nasty divorce where you wife takes you for the assets but leaves the bills. All the Veda score does is apply statistical average, based on the information they have as an average person you are more likely to default. You may not like this fact but based on our (imperfect) credit scoring system you ARE more likely if you are this grouped than those in higher categories.

Taking out many credit cards in a short time is a statistically significant factor in increasing likelihood of default.

Of course our current system is imperfect as (no) they don't know you've closed the loan nor your repayment history, these are better predictors than the applications made, but traditionally Veda has not been allowed to collect. Now they are but most banks are still not telling, hopefully this year most will start.

Can i ask if anyone got the QF bonus points then change over to non QF?

Anyone else considering applying for 3 signature cards across Bank of Melb, Bank of SA & St George? The T & C don't seem to exclude this. With the BT's, the interest off the home loan will cover the annual fees and therefore give 180k points for free.

hmm...and then the same for Mrs SCR.

Won't work, Bank SA, Bank of mel and St George are on the same system they are just different brands from a marketing point of view.
Eg. I can login to St George internet banking using my bank of melb details.

Thanks. I was aware that they were all St George cards, but didn't realise login details were shared. I have the BOM on the way. I guess another application would get picked up, but might be worth a try given that the T & C's don't mention it. Did work for ANZ before they woke up.

Got my first Amplify Signature Statement today, Annual fee charged and normal points posted.
No sign of the 60,000 bonus yet, as per the T+C's bonus points within '3 months' so there is still time, has anyone else had experience with time taken to receive bonus points?

I'm in the same boat as you. It's frustrating you can't check bonus points online (ala ANZ) so we'll have to wait for each statement.

My card has finally turned up. Activated and filled out the form to receive the QP passes.

Question: Was there somewhere in the application where one specified their QF FF number? I can't recall. If not, how do the points sweep?

Yes during the signup you would have been given the option of amplify or amplify qantas in which you would have had to enter your QFF.
You might want to call and check otherwise you might miss out on your bonus QFF points.

Yes. This was at the beginning of the application process. It would not have appeared if you chose the 'Amplify Rewards' option.
