If anyone is still interested, code still works. Called up and the girl didn't need to check with anyone and just said the promotion is still on. She asked if I wanted the Bank of Melbourne or St George one. Since I had my account with St George, I chose that. Didn't want to risk the annual fee not being waived if I went for the BoM one. Didn't get approved for the Amplify Signature but got the Amplify Platinum and she said first year still waived. Just 40k points instead of 60k in the first year.

They didn't even ask for a code when I called up today. I asked about the annual fee and was told it was waived for the 1st year.

How strict are St George Bank on the 12 month previous card holder rule when it comes to giving the bonus points?

Great offer.

I'm from the UK and my passport and medicare details didn't verify the savings account, should i verify the savings account before applying for the Credit card or do you think it will be ok to apply and have the fee waived?

With the above in mind do you recommend applying in branch or will online be ok?

I reckon you'll be ok to apply and have the fee waived, I would suggest doing it over the phone so you can clear up any matters on the spot (where possible).

How is the tracking of reward points with Amplify? Do individual transactions post seperately?

They post monthly. Mine go in around 10th of each month. Same time as the statement comes out.
There's no way of tracking the points via their Online Banking that I know of. But they do list the total points in the monthly statement.

Crikey - that is worse than Citi - at least with Citi you can go in through 'Rewards' and check daily pts posting.

Does anyone go to trouble of copy / paste monthly transactions into an Excel spreadsheet to check accuracy of pts posting? I have done this many times with Citi and whilst accuracy not 100% it gives very close approximation.

I signed up early this year (cancelled less than a year ago) and was awarded bonus points. It was 30k bonus points at that stage.

That's a good sign. I cancelled my last one in May, I've got till September to apply for this. I'll post my results if I apply and get the points.

To get the annual fee waived, do you have to get either a daily transaction account (requires $2000 monthly deposit to waive monthly fee) or an savings account (no monthly fee regardless)?

And do they have to be set up via telephone or in branch?

Just a data point. Received my bonus points 1 month after completing minimum required spend.

Hmm...It's been almost 2 months since my minimum spend.
Think mine rolls over on 10th so I'll wait till then and give them a call if it doesn't post.

Thanks for the info.
