Thanks.

I had already applied.

But I have since done a second "incomplete" application with a different email address just so that I could get this exact same email from them just in case. Email has arrived.

In the same situation as you so will be disappointed if they charge the annual fee. Will just cancel the card up front.

Did anyone screenshot the T&C from last night , I applied and was approved last night but didn't do it. If someone has then, could you please PM me or post. Thanks

Hopefully you get the points.

Big stuff up (and poor form) from St George - especially when even just now on other pages within their site there is still reference to $0 - eg go to "compare credit cards" and scroll to the bottom "important Information" it sets out very clearly the $0 fee for first year, including references to apply between 2 June 2017 to 20 September 2017. But from comments on OzB via people calling St George, sound like it was a holdover/merge from a previous promo. Their marketing and legal teams need to lift their games

From OZB
The $0 annual fee in the first year was an error. People who have applied before it was fixed on their website may be able to get a waiver, based on communications from St George staff, and are encouraged to phone 13 33 30 upon approval

Suppose it just proves the words in your signature re banks and points..

Indeed..and not just banks.

I have made many millions (probably approaching ten by now) of points from stuff ups/ mistakes /loopholes that I would never of acquired without them, and so that is why I don't mind organisations making mistakes. For me it provides opportunity.

Feels bad about posting this "deal", even if they give you the deal you probably will have to fight hard for it.

I am surprised they claim it is a mistake, 60k for no AF is good but not exactly over the top.

These things happen, but I just spoke to someone on the chat line telling her I was approved, she said cancel that application, apply for an everyday savings account with them and once that's opened they will offer the first year $0 free....I will also give them a call

No problem them claiming it was a mistake, as it clearly seems to be. This issue for me is that they honour that mistake.

Personally I am delighted that you did post it. I would rather have the chance of a free 60K than not.:)

Unless St George were completely inundated I suspect that they will honour it anyway. After their exposure is limited to ton one years fees all many banks often have similar deals intentionally, and it was not long agao that St Georg was offering free cards if you had a St George account.

In addition the banks etc are more than happy to pay hefty commissions to sites like Points Hacks for new card applications. So why not just let this batch through.

I just signed up to their savings account. Do i have to call them to get the $0 annual fee offer? How did you fare with them?

Yes give them a call I think it is 1300 138 179 - they said the promo for the $0 fee was EB (Everyday Banking) I haven't set up my savings account yet.

Great tip, thanks.

For anyone that has applied for this card and then needed to send in payslips make sure you get a confirmation email that they received them. They are having issues with this. No email means your application has not progressed.

I got an email but have now heard nothing further for more than a week, may resend.

I applied and sent support docs on Friday. Also received confirmation email on Friday. Received a letter advising of successful application on Monday this week. Still waiting to receive card.

as a data point, applied and approved in 1 day. Met spent limit and bonus points credited on 1st statemnet.

I opened the free interest savings account to avoid the annual fee for first year (same as Westpac cards).

I thought that deal was pulled, as per the above posts.. and the fact that it does not say no annual fee for the first year on the website any more. They even emphasise the annual fee:

you need to use code EB over phone or in branch not online to waive fee in first year for existing customers
