The number of people with Jedi mind powers on AFF have really impressed me. With everyone knowing who has paid, who is staff, who hasn't paid, who is family.

The guy next to me on Saturday morning (in J) couldn't have been a full fare paying passenger.

He was wearing a suit and tie. I was served breakfast, and then he was given a tray and asked to wait until the rest of the cabin had been served. I can only assume staff travel? I've never been asked to wait when I've received an op up.

To be honest it actually made me a little bit uncomfortable to be digging into my breakfast while he was waiting!

Yes that's standard with staff.

I often have CSMs on duty travel paxing up to CNS and this is exactly what happens.

I'm usually too busy slipping into my comfy J seat to notice they're in uniform (usually with a light casual jacket on top).

But I too sometimes feel a bit guilty - but they're used to it - so eat up :)

Or the amount of people who know all about staff travel having never worked for QF.

I can only dream of such expertise.

(shrug) I've never worked for Qantas but for some time I was the beneficiary of staff travel benefits thanks to a close family member. Unfortunately I don't have any superpowers, but I can still often spot someone on staff travel. It ain't rocket science.

I have been asked to wait. Made me feel extremely uncomfortable and had to quickly have the meal as well as time ran out. Didnt get a chance for a second drink either.

In this case the OP was told they were on staff travel by someone who would know. Nevertheless, it is fairly easy to spot staff even when in plain clothes.
