I agree serfty. The only ones with decent proximity to clients, as well as being ones that I like, are the three properties in SYD. They were the ones that I used to keep my status. Alas, I lose SPG Gold in 4 days and the only reason for me keeping the account is using it as a flush through account for getting Amex points to AAdv (and the rare time that I can't get a IHG or Hilton bed).

Except if your domestic travels are limited to cities with SPG properties, like SYD. The Sheraton in SYD is great w upgrades even for mere Golds like moi. The only other place I go to domestically is CBR , but I don't have a choice as to where I stay in CBR anyway - usually one of those random serviced apartments. I've also stayed at the Westin MEL on my 21st and when the air conditioning broke down over summer - got nice upgrades each time. The check in people were quite amused when I presented an address that's just 10 mins away each time (Parkville and St Kilda).

Now waiting for Westin BNE to be built before I visit BNE. In 2010/2011. :shock:
