Thankyou very much, beats paying for them! FWIW it went straight through to the survey and i assume that the points will be received promptly?

According to a post on FT, the survey concludes this Friday, and they expect that the points will be posted 3-4 weeks after that.

Starwood 2008 4th Quarter offer - You Choose

For those who don't monitor Flyertalk (something of a posting frenzy over there at the moment), the SPG 4th quarter promo is now available to peruse at:

https://www.spgpromos.com/choose/index.cfm

A large range of options to choose from - multiple points bonuses for specified numbers of nights , gift cards, free weekend nights, etc.

I've taken up the double stays offer as it will enable me to maintain platinum ... just:lol:!

Thans for that - was planning to take a look tonight, but they released the promotion a bit earlier than they said. Will take a look but not sure just how many properties I will be staying at late this year.

12 nights for 9000 starpoint bonus for me.
It really is great having a program that has promos for all its members not just the US based ones such as hhonors-no promos in 6 years as diamond.I think this makes 6 in 12 months with SPG.

I'm likely to go down the 4 stays / 1 weekend night.

I have currently 6 stays booked, over 11 nights.

So if I push another 2 stays @ an ok Four Points Geelong or Sydney - I'd earn a freebie Cat5 redemption somewhere?!??!

Note that unless you are after Stays/Nights Count Double, you do not have to confirm your preference until Nov 15. Any stays commencing after October 1 count even if you have not yet registered as long as you do choose an option by November 15th.

So, If you are not sure how it may pan out and you do not think you are into Stays/Nights Count Double, you have six weeks after the start of the promotion period to decide.

Once you have selected an option it is unchangeable.

There does appear to be an exception to this generosity as per Starwood Lurker on FT:

FlyerTalk Forums - View Single Post - PROMO: Q4 2008 Promo - SPG You Choose

If you choose double stays promo as I have, then only stays from the time of your selection onward count.

Partially correct ...
Starwood Lurker said:
... Yes, everything but Stays/Nights Count Double is retroactive as long as you register during the active registration period. Stays/Nights Count Double does not take effect until you register. ...
So if you are keen on Stays/Nights Count Double, then you'd better register before your first stay that commences during the period.

Other than that you can wait ... as posted.

Some great choices...if only they took effect from now!! I've got a heap of Starwood nights starting tonight, and ending on 2nd Oct. :(

May have more coming up in Oct, but not confirmed yet. Oh well, better than a poke in the eye with a blunt stick. :)

Cheers,
- Febs.

Et moi.
Actually I am liking this program-because of 2 targeted promos and booking bonus through website got 5000 bonus points for a 2 night stay that generated just 654 starpoints.

Well I decided to switch a Hilton stay over to SPG so now I am registering for the 25000 bonus points for 20 nights.I like it.
