Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas
Status: SPG Plat
Booked: Deluxe Lagoon View King Bed
Received: Captain Owen Suite

Upgraded for five night stay.

I've stayed in the deluxe lagoon view king before, but can you elaborate on the Cap't Owen Suite (incl. location)? Ta!

Top floor, covers 1600+ sq feet, huge spa bathroom with shower, separate bathroom off living room, dining room and small kitchenette (no stove top or oven). Good sized verandah with outdoor table for four.

Overlooks two lagoon pools, one is the pool with anchored kids play equipment. Views to ocean.

Buffet breakfast was great, walked on beach in the morning. Off to swim in the pool and drive up to Daintree, this afternoon.

Quick board meeting first via video conference, then shut down the brain for the weekend.

I notified the property before we arrived that it was a significant anniversary for my wife and I.

GM showed up at our suite after arrival with 2 bottles of Moet, a huge basket of North Queensland tropical fruit and chocolates for my wife.

Now that is a status gift that eclipses most (all?) others that I've heard about. Congrats on the upgrade and on the anniversary!

Westin Tokyo

Booked City Deluxe View for ten days
Given Executive Corner Room (exact same room I had on my last stay)
Selection of chocolates and card from GM

Hotel was sold out most nights during my stay so the over crowding problems in the lounge and breakfast which normally occur on weekends happened for the bulk of my stay.

Sheraton Pattaya Resort.
SPG Plat.
Booked partial ocean view room.
Rate~$150.Z3R.
Received-Ocean view villa.
Fruit,water,a Thai snack,internet,full breakfast buffet.

Four Points Sydney
Status: SPG platinum
Booked: City side
Received: Harbour side

Did BRG with Wotif for $200 (SPG was $390).
Only my second stay at this property after a very underwhelming experience a few years ago. The refurb room was nice with all the amenities you get at the Sheraton. Front desk service was good as well.

Sheraton Frankfurt Airport (1 night) Booked classic room - upgraded to club room.

Westin Melbourne (3) separate stays all booked into entry level rooms 2 upgrades into deluxe city view room, 1 upgrade into studio suite.

Very impressive upgrades in Europe burrco!
It's not common to receive complementary suite upgrades when staying so many nights.

Australia Day weekend at Four Points Perth, SNA upgrade confirmed for 4 nights.
Last year used 10 out of 10, primarily in BKK and Singapore.

Very quite time of the year in Germany helped, normally my typical stay is 5 to 10 nights and I do struggle to get suites for that length of time.

Actually, yes it is. I have received complementary upgrades at most European *woods and the top tier Luxury Collections tend to upgrade 3-4 weeks in advance.

Sheraton on The Park Sydney
Status: SPG Gold
Booked: King Cityside (Red Hot Deal rate $224.10)
Received: Corner King Cityside + Executive Lounge access.

I was unhappy that I had booked a Prepaid deal rate when I checked the day before travel and saw rated had dropped, with breakfast package rates for less that I had booked.
Surprised (
verging of shocked) to be advised of Executive Lounge access included in the booking. I had only visied the Lounge at SOTP once, several years ago, and mostly stay at Hilton in Sydney. The Lounge was delightful, with much less crowding and better levels of service that the Hilton. The evening drinks and canapés were very good, and lovely to see bacon and eggs available at breakfast, rather that the usual continental, or boiled eggs.
I see that the booking confirmation email included an offer to upgrade to Sheraton Club for $50, so if this continues and rates are competitive, I look forward to further stays at SOTP.

The SOTP often has reasonable Cash and Points rates.
In fact our next 2 stays in SYD are there on C&P rates.Much cheaper than the Hilton or 4 points.

I agree the lounge at SOTP is excellent and it's better then Hilton's in every possible way. It's even better then the slightly "elitist" lounge at Westin (although Westin offers better alcohol).

How odd. It's VERY unlike them to upgrade a Gold to receive Lounge Access but it sounds like you were upgraded to a Club Room (which for all intents and purposes is a regular room with club access).

It remains one of my favourite properties in the *wood chain.

Westin Bangkok. Booked deluxe room upgraded to executive suite. Magic.

Plenty of availability in Bangkok due to protests in sukhimvit area where 4 spg hotels are!

Stayed at the Westin a couple of times but prefer the starwood property across the road.

Westin Melbourne: Booked deluxe room (entry level room) upgraded to Regent Suite (not in the standard upgrade pool) so pretty happy with that.
