Hi all,

I did a trip with Qatar Airways from Asia to Istanbul via Doha. I get status credits into my Qantas account for the longer segments Asia-Doha almost immediately after the flight but am still waiting for SC of the Doha-Istanbul segments.

Do anyone know why they would credit the flight differently and when i will get the rest of my SC?

Thanks in advance

I think you might need to chase it up.

I flew DXB-DOH-PER. The points from the long sector posted in a timely fashion. I had to chase the DXB to DOH flight. QF initially said I wasn't on the plane. I did point out if I skipped that sector, how could I have possibly been on the following one. Eventually they saw reason and sorted it out.

Thanks Dave6. I took a photo of my boarding passes. I will lodge a claim for missing SC. I need them to maintain my WP status.

Claim was denied by Qantas. Fare class on QR was Business R. According to Qantas earning table and calculator, Business class flight between Doha and IST would get 50 SC. Any advice on what i should do next? TIA.

Denied via online claim portal? If yes, then try emailing details and note the portal incorrectly rejected the claim.

yes denied via the online claim portal. it appears that there is some form of human screening as the stated reason was in poor English.

thanks. useful read.
I called QF. The agent acknowledged that SC and points should be given for my flights and promised to do it manually. I have not seen anything in my account since the call this morning. I will wait until the end of the day to follow up again.

As a side note, Mrs Longtoo and my last leg home was on a Qantas flight also in BC. the disparity in hard and soft products between Qatar and Qantas could not be any clearer. Qantas definitely needs more than just a new CEO. I have to question the value of my Qantas Platinum membership.

Despite the promise from QF agent yesterday, SC and points did not come to my account. I called them again this morning.

The agent did not make any attempt to acknowledge her colleague broken promise. No apology was given. She asked me to email boarding passes and the ticket to an email for processing.

Seem to be a standard procedure as i received an email immediately at the end of the call to ask for evidence of my flights. My QR flight has 4 segments, SC and points have already been automatically given for the first and last segment.

Will update the progress.

Had exactly the same experience. SIN-DOH-MAD in May. SIN-DOH SCs credited almost immediately, but chased via phone/email for DOH-MAD and sent boarding pass in. Got the email from QF just now (6 weeks later) saying claim rejected as “SCs already credited to QF or other frequent flyer program” - which is not the case.

I’ll have to call up to get it sorted, which I am sure it will, but it seems there is a systemic problem with QR second legs crediting properly.

SYD+1 flew CGK-DOH-MAD a few weeks ago. All QR metal and both flights credited within 1 day. I’m doing similar in a few weeks, but on the IB codeshare DOH-MAD. I’ll report back!

Just curious, why choose the code-share?
Price and timing. The layover QR to QR is 50mins at the moment…😳.

No QSuite on that sector so the IB seat is probably better.

QF has given me 50 SC for the Istanbul - Doha segment. My SC tally is 1199! Just 1 SC short for WP requalification.

Still waiting for the SC from the Doha - Istanbul leg. When i did the online claim, I entered the wrong date, the flight was just after midnight. QF asked me to redo the online claim and they would not process it manually!

I have also logged the claim for Mrs Longtoo. She will get some QFF points.

Be careful with this one. Ive read that onQRs end that they do dodgy stuff and credit certain legs to unknown FF programs at times. Like travellers had their flights credited to unknown MH accounts.

This has come up on FT before so don't completely go blasting QFF at this. You might need to chase up QR too on whats going on.

Random VFF accounts have been reported.

Key thing is to ensure your QF (or other FF details are on the BP and in app). QR aren’t helping but blocking PNRs appearing in the QF app…

My QR flights (booked on AY codeshare) didn’t auto credit. Submitted a claim using the AY flight numbers which was rejected, resubmitted using the QR flight numbers and that worked :)
